Let's say Swofford did resign now..I am starting to believe

that the damage has ALREADY been done to the ACC for football. Unless something great happens like landing a Notre Dame for the ACC, I dont see any hope. And to top it Clemson was to remain in the ACC. What is killing us is a major TV market. I know Greenville-Spartanburg-Asheville is a decent size market but it doesnt compare to a Washington DC ( Va Tech) or a Raleigh/Charlotte market ( NC State) so if the SEC does expand. I dont believe that FSU and Clemson is a combo either. FSU is more powerful than Clemson football..Lets face the facts. Clemson needs some leadership NOW. I hope for the future of Clemson football, Our President, and the BOT are not having a " wait and see" attitude.

We are twice as close to Atlanta as VT is to DC. I don't think it is reasonable to claim they own the DC market if it can't also be claimed that we own the Atlanta market.

Clemson and FSU cause Atlanta to have to carry B12 football

with or without GT being part of the conference. That is the point. Charlotte will have to carry B12 if Clemson joins. It's not about having the highest viewership in the market-- it's about having a market presecence.

I don't think you are getting it. I never said anything about Clemson using Atlanta to get into the SEC. My point is that VT delivers the DC market just as much as Maryland, UVA, and even West Virginia do. All three of those schools are closer to DC than VT. I don't see how in the world anyone can claim that DC is owned by VT. I spend over half the year living in Alexandria, VA, which is right outside of DC, and I see more WVU stuff here than VT.

Right, that is what I am trying to get at here. I have driven from Clemson to Fairfax, VA about 40 times using I-81. VT is a #### of a long way from DC. It is only slightly past the halfway point in what was an 8-9 hour journey for me.

I spend the whole year in Alexandria. I read the Washington Post daily. I listen to local ESPN radio. VT gets much more coverage than WVU. Of course the twerps get the most coverage. It's then a toss up between the hoos and the chokies. WVU is rarely mentioned.

Well, you got me there, I don't listen to radio up here other than WTOP and I don't get the paper. I was just going by how many fans I see around sporting their gear. Personally, I have seen way more WVU fans around the area. I almost never see Maryland or UVA people around (yes I realize UVA fans wear sweater vests instead of shirts with UVA on them).

When no team in the acc stepped up and performed at a nationally high level for almost a decade. How can the conference broker a great deal when there are no star teams worth watching at a national level?
