Man, they sound tight live, and I love that they always improvise on a lot of the songs so you get the basic melody of the hit that you know, but a lot more with the added guitar, percussion, or vocal adds. If I'd been old enough in the late 70s/early 80s to hit some great rock shows, I'd've had a blast! Unfortunately, being around 10 years old, I wasn't allowed!
Who are some other bands that put on great live shows - not just entertaining, but great musicianship?
Wishing I could go see Stevie Nicks tonight in Greenville, but ticket prices these days are WAY too high! Her show started at around $150 and went up to $1800 per ticket for floor seats! My son did get to meet her at the hotel he works at, where she's staying, so that was kinda cool. I raised him well enough for him to appreciate her significance!

I only saw them once in the late 70's Charlotte Colloseum, which didn't have the best acoustics. They didn't sound that tight then, especially when all you've ever listened to by them were recordings. Probably didn't help that I wasn't that tight either. Was a great concert though.

Allman Brothers. Back in the day, I saw Sly and the Family Stone. Ol' Sly was so high , he forgot the words to some of the songs and basically had to cut the show short.

Different genre but two of the best concerts we’ve ever seen were Jason Mraz in Greenville twice and Jewel a cappella in Asheville. Quiet audience, great acoustics

Benmont Tench and a few others from Tom Petty's band played.
Also had the cool, witchy, Stevie Nicks poster in my dorm.

I saw Fleetwood Mac back in 1976, I think it was. It cost $8.00 for the ticket. I saw so many great rock and roll bands back in the 70's and early 80's. Some were:
Fleetwood Mac Eagles (2 times) Rolling Stones (Death Valley) Jimmy Buffett (19 times) James Taylor The Commodores Sammy Hagar (The Red Rocker) The Beach Boys Elton John & Billy Joel (Death Valley) Marshal Tucker Pure Prairie League (Bengal Ball) Boston Stevie Nicks (2 times) Etc.
And one of the best was #### Child's Guitar Army (Edgars)

I saw Eagles, Styx, Foreigner and Journey in the last several years. All sounded great. Also Doobie Brothers.

Saw Kansas at a very small venue in either 1996 or 1997. I’m talking maybe 200 people. That may have been the best concert I ever went to. Saw Genesis at Joe Robbie stadium in Miami and Rod Stewart at another South Florida venue. Also saw the Stones when we lived in S. Florida. Saw Aerosmith at an outdoor amphitheater in Ohio in about 2004 and the opening act was a guy we didn’t know anything about before that night - Kid Rock. He was fantastic. Have seen Skynyrd, ZZ Top and Jimmy Buffett multiple times each.

That would have been pre-Stevie Nicks. Was Peter Green still with them in 72?***
