a big name coach that would have given us instant credibility and put us at the big boy table. But nooooo, we hired a no name wet behind the ears position coach instead. When will we ever learn.

being anywhere close to a fit with the Clemson leadership structure, even a lot of the fan base. He was a non-starter as an option really. Definitely pulling for him at Washington State though and it'll be interesting to see if he can turn that team around.
Gary Patterson is a different story. A legitimate case could have been made for him and it would make a great story to learn just how the process with him went down at the time.
Dabo though possesses an otherworldly passion for Clemson. I don't know if there's anyone even remotely qualified to be a head coach that could approach the level of commitment this guy has, plus the ability to adapt that he's shown to changing circumstances and opportunities. Once he truly settles into the role and its attributes, he could wind up as one of the great ones.
