CBB usually keeps his kids he recruits out of HS for their entire college career. He usually gets more wins out of his classes than the national and conference recruiting rankings. Not to mention his teams wins and losses records in conference are generally better than writers predict, so a 27th and 8th ranked class is indeed huge.

What are you talking about?
We have multiple players that came in as freshman transfer out every year.
In the past few years, almost NONE of the incoming freshmen played their senior year at Clemson.

Not sure why we are arguing over transfer percentage as every school has a ton of transfers as it is the new thing to do

I consider Prosper to be an anomalie. A J Oliver was a special case, probably recruited as a favor to his mother. Kidd, and Neumann, products of the portal. Every program is experiencing this. Honor and Dawes were here three years were they not? Tyson, Hunter, Hemmenway, & Hall are at 3 years or more. Right now Schieflen, and Middlebrooks look to be keepers who will stay. No It sure about Beadle but he hasn't left yet. Just being objective.

It's a solid class in the rankings, but

As South Carolina does in football, we benefit in the rankings here from having a larger class. 4 recruits in one cycle is way above average. Our average rating is 91.01, which is far from elite.
The 2020 class, on paper, should have been the one to push us into the upper tier of the ACC. It contained three 4* prospects. All were ranked in the top-110. Only PJ Hall remained after one season though.
This 2022 class has four 3* prospects with the highest ranked 145th in the country.
If Brownell is going to recruit at such an average level, then he actually does need to get his kids to stay all 4 years and develop them. I get that it happens less frequently across college basketball now though, so I'm not really sure how this will turn out.

In Brad’s defense, we kept the best player by far

from that 2020 class in PJ Hall.
Prosper has a lot of raw talent but I’m not convinced he will ever be a consistent star like PJ.
Kidd seems to have been overrated. He barely played for us and also barely played for Virginia Tech. I’d rather have Middlebrooks for sure.

I think Middlebrooks

has a huge off-season. Idk why, but the kid just has guts I think will put him on the floor coupled with an elite off-season training regiment. I’ll go on record and eat my words if I’m wrong.

I agree! I was really impressed with his toughness as a freshman.

He wasn’t afraid to get in there and battle.
He’s poised to do big things for us. I’d love to have a starting frontline of Middlebrooks, Hall, and Tyson. That would create a lot of matchup problems for the other team.
