It Is Time For Every Div 1, Div 2 and Div 3

NCAA School to sue the NCAA out of existence. I know this guy is applying to the ACC first but they along with the NCAA will probably grant his request to keep from being sued.

Yep, what the NCAA did to Tez Walker at UNC is just wrong. When dookie Jay Bilas is speaking up for UNC you know it’s wrong.

This guy had a truly unique medical situation, where it took

Sep 20, 2023, 5:20 PM

him three years worth of ankle surgeries to get back to the point of finally being able to play football again, last year. That was on top of losing the year to the initial injury, a redshirt, etc. A wild situation, to be sure. But, if the NCAA denied the UNC kid a final year of eligibility with HIS situation, they shouldn't grant this one, either.

IMHO, BOTH should have been granted.

Throw COVID out and the max a player had to complete their college careers was 6 years.

Back in the day, a player had 5 years to play 4 years if he got a "normal" redshirt and a possible 6th year to play 4 if he was a redshirt and got a medical redshirt. Medical redshirts were handed out very rarely and normally the injury had to occur in the first 3 games of the season.

A medical redshirt is not designed for a lifetime. It's for one year. Even with the extra COVID year, he should not be on a team now. I just read about it and nothing has changed about medical redshirts (technically medical hardships) and are there to permit one more year of eligibility not 4 extra years. But, what do I know.
