I like the thought of preserving Mafah and getting a good look at the young guns. We need a speed back to emerge. Phil has an NFL future as a solid power back/fullback now that the fullback position is reemerging, and doesn’t need a spring worth of hits. Let him work on his blocking and save him for fall. Really excited for seeing who will emerge as the #2, 3 and 4 backs. GO TIGERS!!

How do you write this article and mention Wesco but not Moore?

Yeah, Moore won't be here until the summer, while Wesco is already enrolled.

I had already read that More wouldn't be coming until the summer, but I would have loved to of seen him in the spring game.
But a question for you Brandon, what's your opinion of a healthy WR room with the addition of Wesco and Moore. Do you think we will see more of an air raid offense this coming season over the lack of big yardage gains that was absent this past season?

Have been true freshmen who arrived over the summer. This fact kind of makes WR development a mythical hypothesis based on the 2022 and 2023 seasons and the superior play of Antonio Williams and Tyler Brown.
Looking forward to TJ Moore and Wesco contributing quickly.

All the talk has been about TJ Moore of late and rightfully so. But, we wanted Wesco really badly, too. I think they'll both have a shot at being really good at the college level if not further.

And then keep on preaching it. Make 'em carry the football around campus.

With the combination of experience, new talent, coaching changes, and year two of the new system, I expect significant improvement. Can't wait to see how it looks!

I don't know about anybody else, but I'm a little excited to see how good Nolan Hauser will be as a 1st year college FG kicker. Hauser is listed as a 3 star special teams guy, but 247 Sports has Nolan Hauser ranked as the #1 kicker out of the top 25 kickers. I hope that he lives up to his ranking bc we saw how important a FG kicker can be in the first half of our season this past season...

Interesting that no PK has surpassed 3-stars on 247 for at least a decade.

Defense right now is nearly plug and play. Need a DE to step up as a pass rusher. Other than that no worries.
On offense, the OL of course is the main focus. That should get fixed. We got the talent to be better than solid. New OL coach should fix it.
Next is Cade. Get the pocket jitters out of him and that can be done with good OL play. Decision making and being accurate on all throws. We need him to hit guys in stride across the middle, on the fly and fades.
RB need speed to show up and PASS PROTECTION!.
Last but not least WR. If we just have one guy that can take the top off a defense Ala Sammy Watkins (I know it's a tough standard) and we have a QB that can hit him....it's over. Sammy could take the top and middle off a defense but we don't even need that. Jake B and the recievers can work short and middle.

In Texas they've always said there's two sports seasons, football and spring football.
But, that's not totally true. There's also recruiting for football which is year round now.
