In my opinion 2018 recruiting class

Has potential to be the best class we've ever signed! Only problem with the class is we're making it another tiny class. If we could get 21-25 recruits in that class than 2018 will be the best class we've signed. Seems like we're in the lead with a lot of big time players especially a lot of 5 star. Blessed and Go Tigers!

You can only sign the number you have open schollys for, therefore, get the best 18 or so you can get, and go from there. The 2019 and 2020 classes will be largest signing numbers.

I don't know what the number is, but I have heard it's about 12, not 18. I wish it was 18.

The # will go up though. Christian and Hyatt will definitely declare, maybe Cain. Guys are going to transfer after all the competition. If you're a qb or wr at Clemson now, the competition is extremely stiff, not everyone is gonna stay and want scrub minutes vs. SC State and the Chickens

+1 on including chickens in the class with "scrub minutes". It's where they now belong.

I doubt Hyatt is gone as well
Oline is typically a position where age and size matter. Much easier to declare early as a skill player
Going against 26-33 year old pro Dlinemen is no easy task

So I take it you are laughing at Artavis Scott ? Renfrow could leave after the playoffs if he wanted . I wouldn't call a 4th year JR leaving after the season leaving early .

No I think Artavis projects to the NFL a lot better than Renfrow. Hunter is a great college receiver, that's probably all he will ever be, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. Artavis is a part of that 1 or 2% that are gifted physically and athletically enough to play in the NFL. Hunter is not, he's just a really good route runner. He could never contribute on kickoff team or any kind of special team in the NFL, and you have to do that to be able to stick. I'm laughing at you saying he would possibly leave early lol

He's not running a streak route by somebody or outrunning somebody across the middle. He's running a route that requires you to put your foot in the ground and get separation from your man. He's not gonna get yards after the catch, most of the time he's going to be falling down when he catches the ball. But he's really really good at that, and I'm not knocking him, I'm just stating what he is. He's a great wide receiver for college football, he's very dependable and sure handed. He's not faster or stronger than anybody, but he knows where he needs to be on the field

Hunter Renfrow is better than Hunphries ever was during his time at Clemson. He's going to play in the NFLas a slot receiver for a few years. Is he good enough to justify leaving with eligibility left though? I'd say no.

"Hunter is not, he's just a really good route runner"
"And has really good hands."
"He's running a route that requires you to put your foot in the ground and get separation from your man."
"he's very dependable and sure handed"
"but he knows where he needs to be on the field"
Looks like you just describe the characteristics of a good slot wr .

Well Humphries was a slot receiver of similar stature at Clemson just before Renfrow who is now in the league, so....

Guys like Brady, Brees, Rodgers etc feast with guys like Renfrow. Develop a psychic connection, and utilize the great hands and route running. Even if he doesn't go early, he's a good placeholder for a possible transfer or other early draft entry. I would love to see 18 or 19 spots in 2018. Could be a monster class if we can swing 19.

He is already better than Humphries ever was, and Humphries is still playing on Sunday, last I heard.

Adam Humphries is a great example of someone without the typical NFL measurables making his mark. Not saying Renfroe will make it, but he certainly is a "Go To Guy" in our offense, and he has delivered in spades.
