Interpret how you will

If trump wins, I doubt it will be by these margins

But, I don’t think CNN is trying to make trump’s lead appear larger than it is

All that matters are the swing states. I think Trump will be our next president though.

I do not. Neither do Peter Zeihan or Allan Lichtman, two of the more prescient (genius) prognosticators I've ever seen. Zeihan knows, well, everything, and Lichtman's predicted 9 out of the last 10 presidential victors correctly. (You can make a case for the one he missed on - Al Gore - because that one came down to the thinnest of hanging chads and many still feel Gore was robbed. I myself have no opinion on the subject, so stop the yellin' already. Bush was declared president, Gore conceded, it's history.)

They do have some pretty remarkable track records for knowing stuff.

Could endeavor to offer a definitive prediction regarding the outcome of this presidential election

Trumps numerous court cases that could go in almost any direction

The extreme age of both candidates

The proclivity of both candidates to say incredibly stupid things

And two wars that the US is halfway participating in

Who could possibly claim to really know how all of this will play out and who will actually take the oath of office?

Trump has been ahead in most polls for many months. And Biden gets less support from the Dems than Trump does from Pubs.

Here's fivethirtyeight.com's average margin. As of today, 4/28, on a national vote, Trump is ahead by 1.0%.

In addition, Trump leads in most of the swing states.

So, Biden has catching up to do. But he has tightened the race over the last month and a half.

Having said all the above, I don't get too caught up on polls this early. They become MUCH more meaningful after all of the conventions.
