Ok, college sports have become pathetic.

Doesn't an opposing school have to ask Dabo or the AD for permission to speak with another coach? If so, this needs to be done away with. If I was Dabo, I would tell them no and make it very clear that you sign a contract. A contract to coach at Clemson. After the time frame of your contract is up, if you choose to not resign, to be able to test the waters, then you are free to do it at that time and that time only, until then you should honor your current contract. I understand that Dabo wants his coaches to better themselves. That is fine, but it needs to be clear that you can do that when your current contract and obligation is up.

Nice. Up there on your high horse with "a contract is a contract!" and follow it up with "eh, 75% is good enough"

Testing, meaning if they decide To get in contact with other schools, they can and at end of the next yr they are free to go.

I have to agree with the OP on this one. Coaching Contract mean absolutely nothing anymore. I honestly beleive that nationwide it needs to go to what the NFL does with its players. You fulfill your end of the contract or you sit out until your contract ends.

reasonable that you also couldn't fire that person until their contract was up. Only fair right.

Why is it idiotic to ask someone to fulfill an legally binding obligation that they have agreed upon?
No, you would not be able to fire them unless you could show due cause (see Bobby Petrino).

It doesn't bind you to your employer or them to you. It merely outlines the financial arrangement over time.
