If you want Jack fired, you are delusional...

Have you not watched CLEMSON for the past 5-10-15 years? They do NOT fire coaches like Jack. And please - do NOT put Bowden in Jack's league 'cause that would be an insult to Jack. If you watch how CLEMSON runs it's sports programs, it is a BUSINESS. That is - to make $$$$$ and lots of them. It focuses on FB 'cause that's where the money is. BUSINESS. If and when we lose Jack, CLEMSON will replace Jack with some young coach that may or may not work out, but will not have a proven track record of winning at a large school. PERIOD.
So get over it - it will NOT happen. CLEMSON knows this and will just let everything die down - especially since we are close to FB season. Whether you love Jack or hate Jack, it does NOT matter. He will be coaching 3rd next season - and what the heck, I'll be retired and living back in SC and will go watch my TIGERS play. Maybe the TIGER bb team needs a couple more fans to help. (OK - I'm kidding about that).

With Prez Barker out of the picture, I believe we will not..

make bargain bin coaching hires. We have a new Prez now, who hopefully doesn't have insecurity issues with athletic teams doing well like Prez Barker did.

Jack can't even compete with them. He should have been canned in 2002 after the CWS. I still want answers for that one.

Who knows? Our recruiting took a hit when he was fired

and that certainly played a roll our failures in 2010.
You could argue both ways. I am also aware that USuC has been the best they ever have been in the past 5 years (that also shows no sign of reversing, they are going to be tough from here on out).

Tommy Bowden was a TERRIBLE recruiter. Anyone who says otherwise has no idea what they are talking about. Back to back seasons at the bottom of the ACC in the middle of his tenure.

want to play at Clemson during that transition period.
My statement had nothing to do with Bowden's recruiting ability.

Bowden did beat SC but he sure as heck couldn't figure out how to score against WF in Winston when the bubble screen(Rob Spence's pet play) was shut down over and over. I have never seen a more disturbed fan base than Clemson's that night in Winston-Salem. Bowden lost all support he might have previously collected that night. We had the same problem in Kickoff Classic in Ga. Dome vs Alabama. They waxed us and Tommy couldn't understand how that happened.
Of course Jim Grobe took us and Tommy behind the barn several times up there and showed us how an undermanned group could destroy Goliath. At least DaboS has some Coordinators that have some ability to adjust during a game. Tommy's did not have that aptitude.

New prez, new AD. Also BOT has agreed that to be successful in athletics you have to have an open checkbook. Don't think it will happen, but I also don't think this new regime will halter any programs progress because of budgetary issues.

in charge of baseball operation, we need a coach who will let the other coaches coach and let the players play without tension jack brings - especially at 3rd base!

I do live in Clemson, am a scholarship donor, been to hundreds of Clemson BB games and talk to dozens of Clemson fans at church, work, in the neighborhood etc. I don't know a single one that doesn't want to make a change in our program. All we do by waiting is extend the miserable slide that we've been on for some time. I'm not a Leggett hater, I'm a Clemson lover.

Well, you might be right but I don't think you are. If so, we are in for some miserable Springs, embarrassing crowds, angry Clemson people and a serious issue for our new AD with the vast majority of Clemson people who are into baseball in the Upstate.

With RAD as AD , all bets are off. And next years fan support without any major changes will be interesting to say the least in my opinion.

exactly how does keeping Leggett help us financially since as you claim everything revolves around money? Unhappy donors equals less money coming in last time I checked. Less fannies in the seats at the baseball games equals less money as well. I agree that money controls all but that argument points to a need for a change within the baseball program.

Guys - it's not me - it's CLEMSON's track record in recent years which tells me they will do everything possible to keep Jack around, and if Jack does leave they will replace him with a cheaper and less-experienced coach. It's THEIR way.
Problem is - I agree with them. If I were running this business, they are doing everything I would do to maintain the profit margins. The only exception is I would have blown a lot $$$$ going after Rick Pitino years ago when he left the Celtics. That and I would have fired Bowden much sooner, but that's just timing.
And for all of those who say they can't fill the stands - well I'm not in agreement with that. I'd have to see numbers from previous years to see any decline/increase.
