Better summary

545 yards surrendered, 15 percent more yards than clemsons high octane offense, which is truly awesome. Lucky to win the game. Gotta play better on d because there will be a game or two where offense sputters (by sputtering i mean still scoring over 30). There are a few qbs on the schedule capable of amassing yardage in similar fashion. Question: what happens when chad morris leaves? Tajh and sammy will be going pro. I fear it wont be as easy as just "hiring the next morris". Are there any other morris types out there at smaller schools that dabo could scoop up? If so, do we know who they are?

7 total points, 32 total plays, and a goal line stand from the 5 yard line.
Half of UGAs total yards came on 3 drives in the 1st quarter. The Defense turned that game. The main thing to fault the D for is that last UGA TD. We've got to do a better job on the 2 minute drills and keep them inbounds.

You could say that Brent Venables is doing the best with what was left behind by Kevin The EYE'S Steele. At times it's hard for the best chiefs to make great chicken salad from chicken feet. I believe that Veanables will have our D holding on with this group until he can get his type players for his style defense. And to be honest, just holding on is about all we can expect or hope for right now. And also we are lucky that we have such a high scoring offense that can keep us in our games until Venables can rebuild our D....

Bama comparison?? U r joking right?

I know a win is a win. Bama actually gave up fewer than 400 last year to uga, only 113 on the ground. Big difference from the 545 this week for uga. Lotta yards in a close game. Plus bama outgained them by 150 yds. We got outgained. We just made clutch plays and murray gave us two free possessions and they muffed a chip shot fg. The game was a gift and if the defense doesnt improve we will have to score 35+/gm.

Shut up. Georgia had a ton of possessions because that is the nature of our fast paced offense. The opposing team will get more possessions, thus more yardage. Our defense stoned them on 6 straight 3 and out drives. Murray didn't give anything... We took it. Thanks for playing coot.

Don't forget that a lot of those yards were on 2-3 plays and in the first half and UGA's last possession with us in prevent. Tiger defense clamped down in the second half and pretty much shut UGA down. We will be fine.

if we can eliminate those big plays we will be fine. eventually we did that last year. I think we can get a handle on it this year. Secondary coverage and tackling is still one of the weaker areas. Front play against run and pass is picking up

I think time of possession needs to be considered when we talk about our D. With almost 5 extra minutes on D, then we should expect our D to allow more yards than the opponent allows. Our O typically gets off the field quickly, and if you're playing arguably one of the best offenses in the country, then our D is going to have some issues.
