Hulu TV vs YouTube TV

What’s everyone think? I subscribe to Hulu TV and am doing free trial now for YouTube TV now that they are committed to ACC Network. Early on, it seems that the interface for YTTV is better.

BTW,
Sling TV is not worthy of consideration when compared to YouTubeTv. HuluLive, and PSVue . Too many reasons to list, but you can start with their interface is absolutely the worse of the bunch. I expect one of the big three and you have to add an antenae to get locals.

the delay has more to do with your machines closeness to the server that is streaming to your home. That is going to vary from location to location.

HULU and YouTubeTv are both strong competitors. Here are my comments
HULU : Cons- If you want unlimited Streams , so that you can watch more than 2 shows at same time on different TVs you need to upgrade top their unlimited streams. Unlimited is not really a great description. Their software does not allow you to share at different locations. That makes sense but , puts the buddy plan out of business. To get the upgraded DVR and the Unlimited streams it cost 64.99.
NUETRAL- Hulu has a interface that is much more like Netflix or Amazon Prime than a typical grid like you are used to on directv or most cable. I like the Grid, but that is a preference.
YouTube TV -NUETRAL- YoutubeTv has the GRID style for the Live TV content and the Netflix like menuing for the pre recorded content. Many overlook r=that like HULU YouTube TV does off a lot of recorded content of TV and movies. But not near as much as HULU.
PRO YouTubeTV 50.00 All In unlimited DVR , 6 accounts (user profiles) allow you to create personal DVR libraries for each family member and organize your channel favorites etc by user. BTW While you can have 6 user profiles , you can only watch 3 simultaneous screens at the same time.
PRO YoutubeTv - YouTubeTv "currently" allows sharing outside of the home zip code and is on the honor system for what that means. I am traveling on long term software development projects at this point and have carried my home ROKU with me from TN to Ohio and now in Tampa . I have used it without issue while my wife uses the home TVs at the same time.(During my Hulu trial the minute I logged on in another zip Code it cut off my wife's stream at home. ) Hulu also only allows you to switch home zip codes 4 times per calendar year. So if you have a reguraly used 2nd home this would be an issue.
PSVu- was good to, but I do believe that most of their user base is simply people that cord cut early and PSView was way out front early. Check your local channel availabilities for your zip code early whatever you choose. Pricing on PSVue is more like traditional cable and they have tiers of service that go all the way up to 85.00 per month

I have YoutubeTV and I love it! My friend has Hulu Live and after watching TV at his house, I can see and feel the difference between the two. YoutubeTV interface feels better, plus you get more channels for the price. Also, unlimited DVR so that is always a nice addition as well as being able to stream on 3 different devices simultaneously.

IMO YouTubeTV is better in every regard

with the lone exception that Hulu Live comes with access to the Hulu streaming library. YoutubeTV has a much better interface, much better DVR, and also performed better for me than Hulu Live which had multiple outages during the month i had the service (like it was completely unavailable for hours) and would also drop the picture quality on me periodically while YouTubeTV never once did that. I'm sure that's partially due to my relatively slow 30MB Uverse connection, but that's still another plus for YouTubeTV IMO.

I have been a Sling guy for a few years only during Football Season and first week of march madness. My wife has used Hulu for years to watch her shows. That being said this past weekend I decided to go with Hulu Live instead of Sling since they are already signed on to carry ACC network. It was AWFUL!! I upgraded to the brand new Orbi mesh wifi system a few days before, my internet is super fast and I had HULU live continuously reloading and buffering non-stop on every channel I tried. I went back and forth to other live streams I have access to and they were fine and better than ever with the new network. After researching I find that HULU live has this problem constantly. I cancelled within 2 hours of signing up for the free trail. I think everyone signing up for HULU for ACCN is going to be very disappointed when the first game rolls around.
So, in turn - I went to do my trail at YOUTUBETV and I could not be happier. Totally worth the $15 more than Sling. and Hulu doesnt compare to either! And now that its going to carry ACC network! I AM ECSTATIC!

Most of my viewing lately has been Netflix. I don't watch very much real-time broadcasts except for sports - college FB, some NFL and college BB if Clemson is doing well.
I have been a Sling guy, but with two boys at different schools away from home this year, the limited streaming is going to be a deal-breaker. I used the ESPN app at home and let my eldest use Sling at school last year when he was the only one who had left the nest. However, I am not sure if the ESPN app will support multiple streams from one account for both kids nor do I want to hear the complaining when something doesn't work right, so my plan is to go YTTV in the fall and then Sling orange (or nothing) after sports are over.

every local station except the CW and if there is a show you want to watch on CW, it is available on demand. No other internet service comes close to it for local stations. I dropped Direct TV and very satisfied with YouTube TV.

Don't know about Hulu Vs YouTube, but I have experience with Watch ESPN with a VPN vs YouTube live streaming. I spend a lot of time in Ecuador where the internet is awful. Trying to watch games on Watch ESPN with a VPN (most networks block international streaming) there is a lot of issues with a bad picture and freezing up. I was fortunate enough to find a live YouTube feed for the Miami, ACC championship. It came through clearly and consistently the whole game. Don't know if that is useful or just adds to the static for your situation, but good luck.

I'm kicking myself for ponying up for Hulu yesterday. I should've waited another day before dropping Directv NOW. There seems to be some intermittent audio sync issues with Hulu Live.

They all give you at least a week trial, and Hulu gives a month if you ask for it. If you cancel within the trial period , you shouldn't be charged. At least I wasn't

and cancelled it 10 minutes later so that i wouldn't forget to do it. I basically pay for live TV from September-January for football season and the rest of the year we just use Netflix, Prime, and occasionally some stuff like Hulu or HBO if there's a series we want to watch.

No contracts. Maybe chat or call the Hulu CSR people and say you're dissatisfied with audio issues. They may try to fix it or let you off the hook. If you're not on the free trial (which you have to give your CC info for anyway), they should refund and let you go no penalty. Penalty isn't the right word - there are no contracts with streaming services but once you pay the month, you do have the service until the next billing period whether you use it or not. But if they can't provide what you paid for and fix it, you're free to move on.

Does anyone have a link specifically stating that YoutubeTV will have the ACCN? I've looked at their site and still cannot find anything about that.
I want to sign with YoutubeTV, but I need to be sure before doing that. I just cancelled Directv and plan to choose one of the streaming services.

The interface of YouTube was way, way better. You can sort the channels however you prefer, leave off channels you don't ever watch. I put my four local channels on top, then the sports channels that I normally watch. then other channels I occasionally watch.
I like that you can just scroll over the thumbnail strip of a channel you aren't watching, and it is big enough that you can see the score of that game, without ever going to it.

Hallmark NOw , is a stand alone streaming service that is 4.99 per month. Not part of youtube etc. Why do I know you ask? Mom would not get rid of DirectTV unless I got her Hallmark. Not only does it have the new stove but has all the old hallmark movies etc on demand included for 4.99. Happy wife , Happy life guys
