Good morning everyone how was your weekend?

Friday was a holiday, so I went up to the casino to cash in some free play. Got $30 out of a potential $250 (which I did get 1 time in my life) turned that into $36 real dollars on a low volatility slot machine. Got on a live blackjack table for about an hour, would have broke even but I played one hand wrong, it was a double opportunity that I missed. Ended up down $30. Did a few other things, all in all ended up down $100 for about 4 hours of fun, took the long way home. Ended the night watching NC State win me $58 while we saw one of our friend's band play at Smiley's on the Roxx.

Saturday, watched some baseball and worked on my next video. Went to have a couple of beers at Habitap, got some tacos from a truck, then home for Clemson basketball. It has hard to get too sideways about that game, but there were plenty of chances to win it too. I think UConn cruises to this title now that Houston is gone.

Sunday, I caught up on my AEW so RH would be proud of me, finished recording the last bits for my next video, made a YouTube short that I thought would be more exciting, watched more futile White Sox baseball and not much else.

Friday learned boss of job #2 is in the hospital and it doesn’t look too good. He’s been a friend a lot longer than a boss so this is a tough one.

Saturday outside all day doing yard work whilst tracking multiple Clemson games on phone and tablet

Sunday nice Easter with mom

Spent Friday and Sattidy helping her. Still in pain but on the road to recovery. Looks like she'll be laid up for a couple of weeks but can take all but 1 class (which she'll have to drop) online.

Drove to the mountains yesterday for the week.

Oh and the Baggage boys took 2 of 3 from the canes and the Fightin' Brownlees fought but came up short.

No scale this week. Too many emotions.

Don't want to do again

Brad Brownell: Only Larry freaking Shyatt has a WORSE overall winning percentage among Clemson basketball coaches since 1975. Let that sink in. It's Larry Shyatt & then Brad Brownell.

April Fool baby!

Relaxing weekend otherwise.

Headed to GWG tonight for the monthly meeting and tomorrow for a seminar - looking forward to that.

Got my wife this morning - put an "Out of Order" note on the Keurig - she was pissed no coffee. LOL.

And, no, I did not get Wordle in one guess.

Happy April Fool's to all!

Was on call, so that limits one’s ability to let their hair down, but other than that it was real nice. Spent Sat AM getting pool chemicals and getting it dosed up, and cleaned the filters. Power washed my back porch, patio, pool deck, etc. Even if the pollen isn’t done, at least got the thick layer of grime off. Washed all the outdoor cushion covers and all that. Freshened up the golf cart & did some maintenance on the batteries. Yesterday we went to church, then had big family lunch at momanems house. Took a nice long nap yesterday afternoon and played w the kids outside.

Friday, beers and basketball. Disappointed but not angry. I'll echo many others and say the team far exceeded what they showed me at the end of the regular season and conference tournament.

Saturday, so very many chores and maintenance things. Pretty much the entire day was catching up on things I hadn't gotten to in a while. Must have watched something on TV Saturday night...don't even remember now.

Sunday, grocery run, hikes with pup, a few more minor chores. Fired up grill for supper with dry rub pork ribs. Watched the last episode of The Rick and Michone Walking Dead. Glad it was only 6 episodes because it wasn't particularly good.

Not a terrible weekend, but not much in the way of excitement. Glad to get a lot of little things done, but maybe a 17.75/19 Covids overall.

Thurs - since working 4 10s, was off Thursday for Good Friday. Went to Amp the Alley for live music. Then went to the nearby hole in the wall and watched basketball, fun win.

Fri - little one out of school all week with strep, she finally got back on Friday. Pick up bro's dog for dog sitting weekend. Later went out and sang a couple songs, drank a couple beers.

Sat - took nice long walk in Hitchcock Woods with daughter and dog. Dropped by the golf course and watched some buddies wrap up a match, haven't laughed that much in a long time. Wife and I attended a celebration of life for our friend Howard, who committed suicide March 8th. If you ever met Howard, you liked him. One of the nicest people you could meet, and always had a smile on his face. Obviously was some deeper issues there. Was a somewhat sad event but also a great celebration, just the way he would have wanted. Some of you Widespread Panic fans probably met him at a concert, lol. He traveled I think to over 30 states following the band in the past. Went downtown and watched the big Brown L, but was a great run by this team in this year's tourney. Brownell for life at this point, I guess. We got who we got.

Sun - Easter, including baskets for the little one. Easter meal with in-laws, complete with egg hunt. The usual Easter stuff. Met up with 2 older kids and gave them some Easter stuff. Daughter (no pigs) is on the way to ATL right now for a trip to Paris with some classmates and the French teacher. Doing Paris and Normandy to name a couple. Home and tired af so crashed early (for me).

R.I.P to the Happy Hippie

Sun - He is Risen! Church in the mornin, went to in-laws for bbq and a boat ride on Hartwell.

Fri.: Went to Good Friday Services and then knocked off work early. Wifeof and I took possession of our new car. We ended up going with a minivan. To celebrate, we ate a local deli. #ThisIs30. A.

Sat.: Basketball and Easter prep pretty much all day. It was fantastic weather. It was about as good a day around the house as you can have. Stayed up late to watch our game. I won't ever complain about an Elite Eight run. It sucks to lose because we couldn't hit free throws or rebound. Oh well. A.

Sun.: Easter service and then hosted 13 at our house for Easter dinner and an afternoon egg hunt. Again a fantastic day all around. Food turned out well. The highlights were prime rib and homemade orange rolls. I love Easter. It might be my favorite holiday. Afternoon/evening were very low-key. We just planned some yard work for later this spring. Early to bed for all of us. A.

But that was pretty much my reaction to the van, too.

Like you, we loved the Palisade. That's what you ended up with, right? The Palisade was bottom of our list before test drives and at the top afterwards. It really felt like a luxury vehicle. We went with the van because of space. We plan on having another kid at some point and didn't want to get into the same situation where we were tight on room. My car is getting up there in miles and will need to be replaced soon, so we wanted to avoid a situation where we buy three new cars in 3-4 years.

Telluride, basically same vehicle as Pallisade. It suits my wife great and will be fine for hauling 3 kids around town, but not for road tripping. My next vehicle will be a new truck or full size SUV for myself to fill that need.

I'm eyeing some 3 row SUVs. The van eliminates the need for a large third row since my 3rd row will only be used for around town.

It has everything we wanted, nothing we didn't. The higher trim levels mostly included entertainment packages we didn't want. It has enough space for three kids and grandparents for a tip and massive amounts of storage. The seats reconfigure very, very easily: you can drop the rear sets down by pulling a strap. The middle center seat comes out with one hand and stows in the back. The other middle seats can slide or also come out.

We both viewed it as a suck it up vehicle. I will say, in three days of using it, it has been growing on me. The 3 year old can get in and out much more easily and it isn't a pain to stoop in and buckle car seats.

Friday - meh

Saturday- Went to mom-ofs, cut down a tree, hauled it and its limbs to the dump, cut the grass, fixed an outdoor electrical receptacle, replaced the serpentine belt in her car, and traced a house electrical gremlin that ended up being something my father made 30+ years ago. Came home, didn;t move off the couch, and watched Clemson lose.

Sunday- Slept in, goofed off around the house, got some dinner, then went and saw Hans play at Mainland Container. I was BSing with Hans and watched some drunk dude drop his brand new company Silverado 2500 Diesel into a retention pond up to the middle of its left wheels, truck angled sideways about 35 degrees. His right rear tire was completely off the ground up in the air about 8 inches. It was quickly obvious he didn't have lockers or a limited slip..so despite having 4WD, he only had two tires spinning: Both tires on the right side..the exact opposite of where he needed traction. I attempted to pull him out, but his truck started sliding into the water even more, so I noped right out of that and told him to call a wrecker.

Friday wife came home singing and we immediately made drinks and headed out into the backyard to enjoy the awesome weather. Made some sirloin steaks in pan on the grill and they came out perfect, used a nice rub we had in the cabinet. After the steaks came out I sautéed some onions in butter to go on top of the steaks, then deglazed the pan with some white wine and whisked in a little flour to make a nice sauce. Wife made some asparagus and we added mashed taters.
Steaks were ( . )( . )

Saturday morning up early and installed the new pump I had ordered for the washing machine. Was a little concerned about getting it back together because I wasn't that careful about taking pics as I went for reference, and it had been a week. Well, no issues, $22 pump from amazon works great (was $100-$100 on appliance repair sites) and we are back in business.

Spent the rest of the day outside, yardwork and such. In the evening fired up the grill again, this time boneless chicken breasts which I hate grilling because they get dried out and overcooked so fast. Nailed it this time, good sheet. Also sautéed a bunch of onions and peppers, etc. Had a couple drinks and watched Tigers lose, oh well can't complain about elite 8 run.

Sunday morning up early again back outside. Got wild hair to pour concrete stair for one edge of patio that is a bit awkward. Made forms with some old lumber and got to work, easy peasy. Had to make a run to HD for one bag of concrete, but was my first time using concrete for anything other than postholes and it was no problem.

Then showered and got ready to go to this fancy dessert thing we bought tickets for a few weeks back. We thought it was odd that it was on Easter, and it turns out it wasn't . It was Saturday and we missed it. Doh! At least we noticed when we got in the car and looked at the tickets, didn't drive al the way to Travelers Rest. So, more patio time and we laughed at oursleves.

Also, the aphids #### all over us all weekend. Honeydew my ###, it's like it's raining underneath our oak trees this year.

Weather was amazeballs, would do again.

Friday night got nicely shitted up after a long, painful week.

Saturday did grocery shopping followed by some yard work. Started the chainsaw for the first time this year and it fired right up. Husqvarna for the win. Hung out by the firepit until raindrops started falling. Made turkey soup with homemade stock. Noodles got a little overcooked, which still upsets me.

Yesterday had parents-in-law over. Put out a spread of various cheeses, olives, and soppresata. Made shakshuka with fresh tomatoes. Relatives were skeptical, but they warmed up to it pretty fast.

Friday - Worked. No holiday. Was in Gaffney, SC. Had a hunting club conference call than 7pm Good Friday service.

Saturday wife started baking. She baked lemon squares, did broccoli salad, and Crumbl cookies for Feaster, which happens Sunday after church at the inlaws. I fertilized the yard. kids had easter egg hunt Saturday AM. Oldest son helped his grandfather rewire a boat trailer in the PM. Easter byunny came by Saturday night as well, and he gave me an Astro Pop.

Sunday AM kids got easter bunny stuff. Went to church, then inlaws for a feast. Ate too much and ended up passing out in FIL's recliner watching March Madness.

About it. Heading to Greenville in an hour.

Yall have fun. Great, relaxing weekend. lol

Ok, days all mixed up. Thursday night was a service with the hunting club call. Friday fertlized the yard but did also go to Good Friday church service. Rest is ok......all runs together.
