Gimme some advice about selling a house.

Jul 21, 2016, 12:40 PM

My plan is to list my shanty on craigslist for a couple weeks before resorting to a realtor. I ####### hate realtors and can't believe they haven't gone extinct in the Information Age like travel agents. Do I have anything to lose by trying to sell on my own first?

I'd try zillow.

I put one pic of my house on Zillow I took from my beat up potato Note 3 and had an offer in 4 days.

No realtor needed.

Craigslist will get you a ton of people looking for

rent-to-own. Zillow will be better.

I will give you $7.00 for it right now.

I still think I can double that $7.00.

But I'm an incurable optimist.

You can possibly also shop around for a realtor

Jul 21, 2016, 12:46 PM

let them know you are listing it yourself and you just need someone to advocate for you and handle the legal stuff and see how low a commission they will take. I know of some places that will do hands off realtor on the cheap.

skill is filling out the contract correctly.

All the paperwork and costs are performed/calculated by the closing attorney.

Selling my house on my own was probably the most stress free transaction I've ever had.

I would definitely get your place on the MLS

If you don't want to resort to paying the 3%, then I would look for a company that does this discounted. Do you have Redfin in your area? I think they charge 1.5% There is also a company in Atlanta area callled Duffy that charges a flat fee and a very small commission, but I think they are local.

But yes, also get it on Zillow if you can't find a realty company that will list it for cheap
