Just one comment, this is how College Football works. The underclassman practices equal or better over time and then gets a shot at the Big Stage. This is Now Cade Klubnik's Offense

That is the question most of the Clemson faithful are asking tonight. Why did he stick with DJ last week??

Right. It was painfully obvious how bad it was going. Any QB on our roster could have done what DJ did against the Gamecocks.
A decision Dabo will have to live with as it probably cost this team a trip to the CFP.

????Probably cost us a trip to the playoffs???? I believe the decision not to play Cade against the coots, it was the same as driving Railroad spikes in our coffin that will keep us out the playoffs!!!

Sure it does, it make them not care about getting the ball back to another 3 and out, it breaks their will to give it all they have to give. It's like why, DJ is just going to give it right back to them, and we'll be right back out doing the same thing with the same results over and over, fck that!!!!

It did. Did you miss how effortless Cade’s TD drive looked against Ga Tech?

Then, the poor kid didn’t get any more quality playing time because our games were too close to being losses.

So many questions, and only one answer:

Cade Klubnik. I’ll just go ahead and say it; Dabo stuck with DJU for about 8 games too long. Would the score in ND have been more respectable if CK had played the whole game? Maybe. Would we have won it? Dunno. It seemed like it was just their night. But I believe it would’ve been closer and caused our reputation to be more respected by the CFP. Would we have beaten Scar at home, kept our home win streak alive, gotten 8 in a row over the Cox, and gone to the CFP if CK had started that game? I’m going to plant my flag here and say ABSOLUTELY! Tonight was LONG overdue!

it’s got to be difficult for a successful coach to admit you made a mistake, especially with how hot of a prospect DJ was to land back in 2020. But yeah I think the sample size was there, I think we could have concluded the DJ experiment much earlier this year and the season may have ended differently.

can join his brother, wherever that is, and together make some NIL $$$. As Blackledge said, he graduates in Dec and some expect he'll transfer or go to NFL, but it's hard to imagine that happening."

I found (2) questions in there.....
Dec 4, 2022, 12:27 AM
|
|
1) Yes
2) Yes
I wish DJ, and his family, the best. I do. But, this was a failed experiment. It didn't work as well as desired. There are other options. One that has proven better at times.
It's time to move on. Obvious. No "more questions than answers" or whatever.
Thanks, DJ. You did fight, try, play hard, etc... You just got beat. That's it.

What questions ???? Cade ignited the whole team and we got to see what an effective QB could do with our offense. You could see the defense looked like they had a huge weight lifted off their shoulders knowing they didn't have to be perfect to keep us in the game. If Cade had been inserted last week after the first two STALLED offensive series in the 3rd QTR I believe we would have won that game and be IN the CFP. Everything fell into place with USC and TCU losing but we let the chickens knock us out. At least Cade is our starting QB now and we can get ready for next year.

For Heavens sakes, stop calling it magic. It’s called playing the better player

Plain and simple.
Now I, quite simply, want to know why the best player at the most important position on the field wasn’t playing all year?

Either Cade STINKS in practice, or Dabo blew the QB-choice
Dec 4, 2022, 2:19 AM
|
|
Why did Dabo start DJ in the ACC championship game? Because DJ was better in practice than Klubnik in Dabo's eyes? That's impossible to believe after the seeing the nearly flawless MVP performance Klubnik gave.
I guess Dabo's judgement was clouded by his love and loyalty for DJ. I guess that Dabo want to give DJ every last chance to turn it around, hoping beyond reason that DJ would come around, and hoping that Dabo could help DJ fulfill his NFL dreams. If so, then the problem is that Dabo's clouded-judgement cost the team (and the fans) the state championship and a playoff berth.
Similarly, he stuck with Cole Stoudt over Deshaun Watson for too long and it cost us an overtime loss at FSU, which cost us the Atlantic and a shot at the ACC crown.

Yes, and there have been those questioning our recruiting - if in their eyes DJ is our best QB option, well … they can’t evaluate talent and the lack thereof.

It's a team effort... offense and defense... If offense can't stay on field, defense gets worse.
Dabo needs to look at coaching. Talent is there
