I'm not sure we ever thought we were that deep...

it was just that the front line talent was about as good as anybody's anywhere. We're suffering a little bit without Peake, but if you actually look at the numbers, Bryant isn't far behind FSU's #2 WR even though he barely played against Wake.
A lot of the FSU people keep talking about Kelvin Benjamin, but he has less yards than Bryant does right now. The only real advantage over us that they have right now is that both Greene and Shaw are reliable go- to guys. Clemson's only really reliable receiver thus far has been Watkins, with both Humphries and Bryant making big plays at times.

Maybe - but how many teams are deeper?

Watkins, Bryant, Peake, Humphries, Williams, Hopper, Green, Porter, Rodriguiez, and Forbush.
I don't think you'll find anybody whose top 6 is better than ours (and yes I realize Peake is out). As far as the last 4 on the list, I know they are not superstars (at this point, at least), but who has WRs that deep on the depth chart who are better?

Coaches made a major mistake not taking Q. Davis

He wanted to come to Clemson and the coaches just simply missed on him. He would clearly be a GREAT #2 on our team.
I also think some of our WR issues are related to the one VERY strong class we signed in big numbers. I think HS WR's and perhaps our coaches felt like we were set for 3-4 years, when in fact we need to keep bringing in 2 WR's regardless of the current situation.
Dabo is overall doing a fantastic job but his roster management can clearly be improved upon. I'm hopeful we will see him progress in this area as he has in others.

I wouldn't really say either of them are reliable #2s

At least not like Shaw is a #2 for FSU. They can make themselves into that #2 guy in this game, though.

the most sure handed receiver we have. Sammy has his drops Bryant has his drops but if boyd throws a catchable ball to adam it is caught. now when it comes to yards after the catch Sammy is the man. when it comes to the deep threat Sammy and Bryant are the guys. but when it comes to needing 10-15 yards adam is the man. he wont get the most yards after catch but he will catch the ball. he reminds me of the role brown did for us the past few seasons.

Reallly? I know they have to stretch things to fill the dead air but seriously. They'd be better off reading from the phone book.
OR...
ESPN has taken it upon themselves to literally call you out, Montavis...oh yes they did

A No. 2 WR is overrated when you've got so many targets

It could be Bryant. Or it could be Hopper. Or it could be....
I just can't find a reason to be at all concerned when you can have ends and even backs go out and have some big games catching balls tossed by Boyd. Humphries is a prime example. And then Seckinger. But even MacDowell and Brooks have 'received' a few.
When you can send Watkins and Bryant out as decoys for heavy coverage and STILL have throwing options, then I suspect we are okay.

we had a better running game. We certainly are not in the poor house at WR as it is a very good group overall. Just need somebody to be THE GUY that Boyd can look to when we need a big play and Sammy is double/triple covered.
Let's hope we find that GUY Saturday nite.
