Does anyone else feel like Venables is a man among boys

as a DC in the ACC? Auburn was a tough test IMO, and BV is used to seeing offenses like OU, OSU, TT, Texas, Mizzou, Baylor, etc every week. To me - it seems like this is a cake walk for him. He won't see those kinds of offenses in the ACC IMO. The Coastal looks down right pathetic this year, and NCSU and FSU are probably the biggest threats in the Atlantic that he will see. SUC looks - well - like VANDY. Watching his interview, he seems almost giddy with excitement waiting to lock down some offenses this year. We are about to see something we haven't seen in 30 years IMO. Can't wait for this season to unfold. I think the ACC is in for some rude treatment by the CLEMSON D.

kind of talk. we have some issues on defense. we can't contain the edges. Our secondary missed a few coverages. We have no depth. It's a long season.

They seem to own us there. But yeah I agree with you I think he is a fantastic hire. Wanted him as headcoach a few years ago....

Need to see if the defense can keep it up and stop a variety of offenses, especially our chief ACC rivals.
And then we REALLY need to see our defense stop U$uC.

What about the post saying that he should be fired? I personally think he's a great hire. Friends of razzed me for the Clemson D the last few years saying we're not scary. I think him being a bit of a hard ### is a good thing. We need to be mean on D, that's all there is to it!

Do not get faux confidence . We cannot stop the run. Auburn is a poor offensive team. No, he is not a man among boys.

I agree that it is waaaay too early to be judging Venables. Let's wait until we have played Ga Tech, Va Tech, FSU and USuC. No, let's wait until he has had a chance to recruit several classes and fully implement his system. Maybe we can fairly judge him then.
