Just found a DeWalt drill laying on the sidewalk

on the walk back from the corner store. It's got the sweet pistol grip and looks to retail at $150+ Not a truck or contractor in site.
Do you just keep it, or try and go by there the next few days to ask around? I don't want to volunteer to give my new drill back to some sketchy contractor who's played this game before.

take it buy a pawn shop and have them test the serial number.
Also, you should probably note the serial number on any power tools. You can then set up some sort of sting operations to give pawnshop owners, cops, and crooks a hard time.

For some reason, they won't let them put a Quikstop on Montague Street. So corner stores are an (unfortunate) thing.
