to two starters. I was pulling for and against them at the same time if that even makes sense. Wanted that billionaire booster to get discouraged but he will be full bore open purse strings now.

Texas probably has big in their program too so that was probably a wash in determining the outcome.

They had more than those two great guards. PF Omier was a great addition from Central Arkansas who was the Sun Belt player of the year last year. He got some of that NIL as well. But also have some great role players. Justin Miller has been there 4 years and had a huge 27 pts today.
NIL is great, but still have to have that coaching to go with it. Eh, Mountineer?... Crickets....

the intent.
Typical of decision-makers that have no stake in maintaining the policy once it's implemented to malaise through the decision process.
Reminds me of the Feds. No?

I keep seeing $800k. Just to clarify it's $800k over two years for Pack

And, a reported minimum of $100k for Wong.
I see people thinking it's a $1.6m backcourt.

Wong was at 100k when he threatened to go to the NBA or enter the transfer portal if his compensated isn’t increase. He stayed at Miami….he’s over 100k now if you can’t read between the lines.

Except, according to Ruiz, he would not renegotiate Wong's deal

He did offer to help him get other NIL deals, so maybe he got more. But, I don't believe it's coming from Ruiz.

Kudos to them for winning thus far. Glad it’s them and not the overpayed tarheels.

won't be long and their football team will be tops in the league. Money can buy championships and we're about to see a shift in college athletics to the big city teams being top dogs.

It's a lot cheaper for the billionaire this way than having to buy a pro team.

relationships with enough Clemson basketball supporters, considering his charisma, outgoing personality, and on court successes, to help attract some additional resources for our upcoming wave of new transfers. They are probably lining up to support him in this effort as we speak.

The sad reality is the quicker we can get out of the ACC and into either the SEC or the Big 10, the more money we will have to begin to compete on a more even footing. No one can compete anymore for the top talent by just offering a scholarship.
I hate what NIL and the portal are doing to college athletics but the professionalization of athletics is here to stay and you either compete the same way as the big boys or you will quickly get left behind.

to directly spend official athletic payouts on player compensation. That money is coming straight from boosters.
However, what you may see going forward is a new distribution of money from donors. If SEC programs are getting 100mil a year from league revenue they will need alot less booster money to finance facility upgrades. The AD can then direct the boosters and their donations to NIL collectives instead.
