Been in this house a few years and the deck was never stained after being built. Neighbor also thinking the same and she gets a quote for $1500 for the job… these are not large decks 12x14.

Obviously I won’t pay that so I got a pressure washer from Dad last weekend then stained it today. Took a lot of stain as it was in need, so about $250 for material’s. A whole day of work today for the wife and I.

I forgot how much it sucks to do railings w 3 coats. All in all definitely profiting here but my next house will 100% have a composite deck like the lake house and dock. F real wood decks

finish on treated wood. I don't remember why but it had something to do with the chemicals used to preserve the wood drying properly.
