Dabo is wrong regarding bandwagon

I take a lot of exception to Dabo's "lightening the bandwagon fans" comments. You are not losing just bandwagon fans. You are losing the interest of lifelong fans and alumnus. Lifelong fans can deal with losing, because most of us have dealt with it numerous times in our lifetime. What we have a hard time accepting: - A team that continually makes the same critical errors by the same players. Players that are making more than 90% of your fan base on a yearly basis. If we continued to perform at that level, we would all be unemployed. - A head coach that refuses to change with the landscape that is now college football. I get it, I hate the transfer portal and the current NIL distribution model, but it's part of the lexicon that is now college football. Accept it an succeed. Reject it and recede. - Listening to every broadcast crew that calls our game question the same plays and mistakes that the fan base is seeing, only to watch our head coach pump sunshine. At some point you have to be an executioner when it comes to leadership. Bench someone, demote a coach, rattle some cages. Complacency leads to atrophy. - A fanbase that understands (outside of Alabama, OSU, and Georgia), we could have hired any assistant coach from any staff in the country. Yet we chose to promote coaches with zero experience into on-field coaching positions. That's a move Dabo has to own. If changes aren't made at the end of the season, that could be the hill Dabo decides to die on. For what it's worth, Sam Pittman will be available at the end of the season. Open the checkbook and hire him as your O-line coach. He may not have succeeded at HC, but he is a proven hall of fame O-line coach. - A coaching staff that had the transfer portal and at least 3 years to develop a replacement for your all-American kicker yet failed to do so. - Start benching guys that make mistakes or go rogue. This is now a learning year. Use it to the programs advantage. Wake some guys up. Give some other guys chances.
I love what Dabo has done for our program but if he continues to dig his heels in and let his ego run this program, he will alienate the total fan base not just us so called "lifelong bandwagoneers".

Get a grip. We are talking about a game here, no one's life is at stake.

Unless IPTAY keeps going up and I can’t afford it anymore but that’s another story. I just want to give a 2 time National Championship winning coach (who took 8 years to win his first) a lot of patience as he navigates something that is new to everyone. He wants to do it in the right way. Look at what is happening at Southern Cal. That team is absolutely embracing the portal and NIL has no reason to not be undefeated from a talent standpoint. But at what cost to their humanity? If I was a Trojan fan with the reigning Heisman trophy winner counting his money I would be miserable right now. As a Clemson fan who is dismayed but not miserable, I can look to how Coach Swinney has adapted and fixed every other obstacle that he had at Clemson and I am confident we will climb back up the mountain.

Up but I would have to do so from my couch instead of the bleachers.

Idc who the coach is I’m a Clemson fan for life, and he’s bigger then anyone person. The only people who are obsessed with what Dabo said are the ones who use the football team as an identity so when we are losing it’s impossible for them to be happy.
