Congrats to Steele. The reason he did not ultimately work in Clemson was his inability to stop spread offenses. Remember, he did well versus run heavy and pro style teams. He even stated on several occasions the difficulty in stopping spread offenses. This was on full display in the Orange Bowl. Known for his half-time adjustments, he did not adjust for the fly sweep. Ultimately, that debacle did him in. But I am supportive of anyone who has been part of the Tiger program.
in Charleston and he is a quality man. Spent time talking with me and never seemed to give lip service. He may have had trouble with spread offenses, but his character is quite good!
