CU 2011 ACC Champ players currently in the NFL

Nov 4, 2014, 12:30 PM
2011 CU Team.pdf(266.8 K)

As we all know, NFL announcers (Gruden and others), media, T-netters, etc. have taken note on how well CU alum are performing this yr in the NFL, so I just spent lunch gathering names, statistics of both the offense and defense players that were together on the 2011 ACC Championship Team (see attached). Makes my wonder how that team lost 4 games (sure - blame the defense and turnovers for a couple of them, but the skill should have more than compensated)

A couple notes: Skill players from that '11 team have a combined 25TD's thus far this yr., and one would think that is far and away the most from any one school (not enough free time to confirm that); also - a quick check on number of current NFL players from schools: Elite (Bama, LSU, FSU = 40 or so), CU = 26, USuCk = 24, but the difference is the % of contributing starters out of the 26.

It was a very young and immature team that didn't know how

To deal with adversity and their early success

Brad Brownell: more losses than any other coach in school history.

That team coming off a very bad 2010 was not excepted to win 7 games. I know the second half of the ACCCG was fun. I was cold and at half the game was close but it didn't take long to get me warmed up in the second half.

Seems to be a glaring hole to me.
