An Alabama inmate died of hypothermia after jail officers allegedly restrained him in a walk-in freezer and left him there. His body temperature dropped to 72 degrees.

He was already tied down in a restraint chair when they put him in the cooler.

So, while I agree if he wasn't a problem he would not have needed the chair, taking him in the chair and moving it to a freezer is not the same as killing/injuring someone in the heat of the moment while trying to restrain them and not knowing if the person/perpetrator has a knife, gun, etc.
