Why is everyone grouping UNC in the likes of Clemson and FSU? They really have no football history comparable to Clemson or FSU. Would you really expect to see a contingent of unc fans at Kyle Field or even at Camp Randall for a FOOTBALL game? It's crazy how they have blown up this perception as a football powerhouse within the league when they're simply average...

You have a second rate athletic history (”lacking” doesn’t begin to describe your football tradition) but run your mouths like you’re Alabama. Your fans are classless and hospitality is a word that doesn’t exist around Carter Finley Stadium ( #### and batteries come to mind first). And then we find out your school switched its vote to allow the gulags of Cal and Stanford to join the ACC?

They're not, so you make a good point.
The term that matters now is "branding". UNC has it, and it's a big factor moving forward for anyone wanting to make the Super-League jump.

Apparently, UNC is coveted because of its academics and athletics. They can thank their friend, Swofford, for his help in sweeping the academic scandal in athletics under the rug. However, they did at least stand by their "no" vote. The same can't be said for NCSU.
