Can BT Potter handle punt duties?

He has the strongest leg in the team. If he can handle punt duties, it would be the huge upgrade of our special team

I’m with you on that! I’m not sure how our punter earned a scholarship...

I've just been shocked by our miserable punting game since Pinion left.. we face punters all the time who can kick it 60+ yards in the air every time.. we struggle to get 50.

I meant from where he kicks, not from LOS, but still even so sometimes he struggles for 40

No punter can average 60 yds. 40 isn't bad. Sheesh.

is we have yet to face an opponent with a worse punter.
We always struggle and it will bite us hard in big games. Texas AM it bit us pretty hard luckily they fumble through the endzone on that drive but it is, has been, and will be a problem. He has a hard time kicking a spiral it always is a wobbler. Which kills distance. I dont' expect perfection but 70% of your punts shouldn't be mis-hits...

The good punter can save the game. I am still believed we can beat Bama last year if we have a good punter

Their punter constantly put them 10 yards closer because we couldn't out kick him.

Spiers is ok when you're around midfield and need to pin the opposition inside their 20. Sadly he doesn't have that booming leg that will flip the field when Clemson has poor field position. Honestly felt like King had longer punts during the spring game. Would be nice to see Potter trot out there once or twice just to see what he can do.

I was at the game and recall one punt from around the 15 or 20 yard line where he kicked the end of the ball like those designed to back up inside the 10 yard line. I'm sure it was just a mistake, but I just don't recall him booming any punts this year. I think we have a commit from Florida that is ranked at the top of the list.

was absolutely awesome. I haven’t seen anybody kick a ball like that during a game since Dale Hatcher. I know it probably didn’t show up on TV but it was something to behold live. His only bad kick was a rugby style punt that I’m sure he was coached into, much like Spiers at A&M who I thought had a pretty good day considering the rain right up until the situation scared our coach into that decision.
