I don't think that's a good fit for us with these goals y'all have floated.
- Nothing less than 27-5
- Losses only to good teams
- Win conf title every 3-4 yrs
- Make NCAAT every year
- Minimum sweet 16
- NCAAT losses only to higher seed
- Win a natty
Did I miss any?

Would you rather give him a raise and a participation trophy each year no matter how the season goes?

No, but I wouldn't fire him because of what we've done in the last 14 yrs. In our history, we've made it to the Elite 8 once and that 44 yrs ago.
We are not an elite basketball program and a coaching change doesn't get us there. I don't know what you do to get great recruits to come to Clemson.

Those are more or less the expectations Dabo helped establish for the football program. Set high aspirational goals and build a program to achieve them. Find a special, capable coach to lead that charge. If we have that will in basketball, we can find a way.

Well in a hundred years, we have not been able to find such a coach (Barnes may have been it but bolted) so perhaps the coach is not the issue? Dabo's goals were a game changer along with the $300M or so we spend supporting his dream.

He started winning before we started spending. The more success he had, the more we invested.

C'mon, football has tradition here. What turned out to be a great hire helped get more blue chip recruits. This is NoWheresVille for basketball. Tell me if I'm wrong, but I don't see that we've ever had a 5 star basketball player here. Everybody wants that to change. We need a very good X&O coach that can recruit, and we need a bunch of $$$.
