Boys/Girls..These TN vs CU stats are highly worrisome!

Check em out! We win in only 1 stat (D ranked 25th).
What say you other than QB Milton may be a liability and our new QB may not be.

Update their stats for me without Hooker + Jalin Hyatt's numbers.
if those two guys were playing I would absolutely be worried.
Those stats mean nothing going into the orange bowl without them playing

It's not a very good chart, most of the stats are offensive, there is only one stat from the side of the ball which we are better. I wouldn't read into it.

Not really...

TN's offense is ranked #1 because of the play of Hooker who is out for the season.
Clemson's passing yards/game (and rushing to some extent) are so low because of DJ and he is out for the season.

Our team has changed dramatically in the last 2 weeks.

It will be interesting to see how Tennessee tries to handle Cade's passing and speed. UNC wasn't prepared for our passing attack, but our running game was not terribly successful. As Tennessee prepares for an improved passing attack, does that open up the Will & Phil Show? Does Cade pop a long one?
Our back 7 seems to be playing faster, as our linebackers and secondary seem to be improving. Wes has figured out how to best utilize his guys.
I see a team excited and highly motivated to play.

Hard to judge the QBs because basically Cade played 1 game and won and Milton played 1 game and won. Pretty much a push as far as I can tell. It is our DB's against their receivers and that worries me.

Of which 2 of the top 3 are gone. Hyatt especially being a TD machine. Think we will be fine. Like to see what Klubnik can do vs the #127 pass defense.

This should be a fun game to watch. I'll have my adult beverages, chicken, and biscuits ready to go. I'm going to cheer for my Tigers till the clock reads 00:00.
We win, GREAT!
We lose, Congrats to the other team!

LBB, think about what you are posting. 4 of the stats are offensive stats, they have a better offense as evidence by one of the stats you posted. If you did 4 offensive stats and 4 defensive stats, it would likely be 4 for Tenn and 4 for Clemson.
This is some real head scratching logic.

I think you can throw the stats away

They are without their Qb and top wr who created their phenomenal offensive numbers. Our losses are a bit easier to cover. I think our O will have at least 400 yards and we win 42-20.

I expect our boys to play lights out and hope our coaches stay locked in during practice because these bowl game practices are so valuable. It all really depends how the defense and oline plays to determine if we win this or not. If we can establish a run game to help Cade out, we will be just fine and dandy. We need to establish pressure on Milton and stop their run game as well. Also, no gimmies for Tennessee. Gotta keep turnovers to a minimum. I feel a lot better since their two best receivers aren't playing but they still have a really good receiver room.
Throw the season stats out the window for both teams. I get more excited for this Orange Bowl by the day and the new chapter of Clemson Football.

There is nothing to worry about

Neither Hendon Hooker nor Jalin Hyatt are playing for Tennessee. They are losing a Heisman candidate and a receiver who was an absolute beast this year. Their per game offensive stats mean absolutely nothing in the Orange Bowl.
Seriously, if you didn't see him play, watch some of Hyatt highlights. He was amazing. What's really good is his best game was against Alabama (5 TDs, 200+ receiving yards). But they weren't the only team he gashed.
On the other hand, our passing game, and offense in general, gets a huge boost by the switch at QB.
Losing Murphy and Simpson on defense will hurt, but Tennessee's offense will be a shell of what it was.
If both teams were at full strength and DJ was our starter, Tennessee would have been a strong favorite. But as it stands now, I expect us to win by a couple of touchdowns because Cade and company will shred their sorry defense as long as pass protection is serviceable.
Clemson 41, Tennessee 27

Our defense will stifle UT's offense and they have no defense to speak highly of.
