Booing injured players/Fake injuries...

Oct 27, 2014, 12:17 PM

I have been in the stands when a player goes down with an "injury" only to go back in the game a play or two later. Was he injured? Was he cramping? I can't tell from my seat up in the stands and it's doubtful that many people can.

Booing a player who is down should not be acceptable to anyone. It shows a complete lack of class and is a poor representation of our university and our fan base. We don't know the situation on the field. Maybe it's a ploy to slow down the pace of the game, maybe not. If it is a slowdown tactic, maybe the rules should require the injured player to stay on the sidelines for the remainder of the series. Will that fix it? No, the coach can send someone in for a play with the intent of going down - a "ringer" if you will - but the coach is also sacrificing one of his 11 for that series.

I realize that this post will probably get hammered and that I am probably in the minority here but I take a great deal of pride in how our program presents itself. Hammer away!

It's called CHEATING! Plain and simple. A Direct attempt to skirt the rules of the game and lessen the total integrity of NCAA football! The HUNH offense is perfectly legal within the rules of college football but the attempt to slow the game down by "faking injuries" is an attempt to destroy that offense which in turns gets at the integrity of the game itself.

It's easy to tell when someone is cramping

Oct 27, 2014, 12:26 PM

none of their players had a problem with that.

Now, their FANBASE on the other hand, had some severe menstrual cramping issues I think

;)

Whatever you do, always give 100%.....unless it's donating blood

If one condones cheating then that also says something

Oct 27, 2014, 12:30 PM

Cheating is not to be tolerated....PERIOD!

I don't condone booing the downed players but the difference is I understand what's going on with the fans who are reacting to the cheating. Booing is not cheating...faking injuries is...so which is worse?

Faking injuries is cheating.
Booing a potentially injured player is classless and an embarrassment.
How do you determine from your seat in the bleachers when there is an injury or just simple cheating?

Maybe charge a delay of game penalty each time a player goes down with an "injury" on the field. Put it in the referee's hands to determine when to penalize, especially if a team begins a trend of having players go down. Treat it like they do a sideline warning - first occurrence is a warning, second results in a penalty. Just a thought....

You sound as soft as the cuse fans

If you can't tell a fake injury from a real injury that's your problem. If you are watching the game you know when a player is truly hurt or when he is faking it. When a player looks over to the sidelines and then points down to the ground like he's asking "is this what you want me to do?" and falls I think it is safe to assume that he's faking it.

ThX "DAD85"..for I agree with You Sir 110%..that

Oct 27, 2014, 1:24 PM

NO ONE in the stands knows IF a player is injured. Yes, in 2013 UGa game it was almost laughable that a few of their players acted like they were told to lay down to stop the flow of Clemson's fast-paced O..but our present O does NOT present anything close to being fast!!

STOP being jerks fellow Clemson Fans (the ones booing ANY injured D player) and be sports..since you are ruining all the good things we have accomplished as far as being known as great fans all over the USA!

TIA..and, GOTiGERS!

Again, are you not watching the game? When they were faking the injuries is when we had kicked it into a pretty good tempo and were actually moving pretty decently down the field. When someone is cheating I am going to boo
