If nothing else but to shut this board up! Geez you would think he played for the dawgs or the coots, as much heat as he takes. Go get them DJ. I'm definitely pulling for you. Go Tigers ??????

It's OK to pull for him this fall....

but you can't deny that he was a major disappointment this past season. No reason to sugarcoat that. If he had played as expected we would have had a good shot at an undefeated regular season. He looked so often like he wasn't focusing or mentally in a game. I'm pulling for Cade this fall as I don't think DJ will have it.

I think every Clemson fan wants him to be a big success and he very well may. Last year he was a bust and there is no way to sugar coat it and it wasn’t all on the receivers. As for his high school accomplishments, some of those games were Not To Good’ either.

C'mon Tiger77 and FORESTTIGER, don't let your 'pride of (your self-held belief) being right' interfere with the facts about DJU's play this past year.
The easy way out is to say 'DJ was bad.'
The more thoughtful analysis is to recognize that DJ had terrible O-Line protection and terrible WR play in the first 1/3 of the season. Joe Burrow nor Trevor Lawrence would have been successful given the virtual collapse of both WR and OL corp for the 2021 Clemson team. You guys both know this ... don't be afraid to adjust your public narrative to reflect the (obvious) things that any observant fan with even an iota of football knowledge would immediately grasp.
DJU was never a RPO QB (just like Joe Burrow was not a RPO guy, nor was T.Lawrence a RPO guy when he first got to Clemson). It took several games for DJU to start to grasp the nuances of RPO (which the Clemson coaches had to belatedly push when they realized that RPO was the only means for Clemson to put up any points and to keep our D off the field ... given the terrible WR and disjointed OL play).
By the time of the FSU and Louisville games, DJU had become competent with running a RPO offense, and the OL had improved (continuity factor) and the WR Corp was not playing as awful as in first half of the season.
Last few games (after DJU busted up his finger against UConn) the coaches had his role adjusted to 'game manager' ... a role in which DJU performed well.
You know all of this; don't be afraid to speak the truth even if your 'DJU hating friends' might get mad at you for expressing an enlightened narrative.
The truth will set you free!
Good luck!

As long as our O-line and receivers are healthy, he will be fine. If not no QB could be.

He was around 4 from last place in all of Power 5 dude in QBR. He was without a doubt the worst QB in modern Tiger history. If all receivers would have caught every ball instead of dropping it, his conversion rate would still be worse than Cole Stoudt.

this is a weird post. Why would anyone who pulls for Clemson not want him to do good. I mean, if they found the best option was putting our FG at QB and that won us ballgames , why would anyone care?
Sometimes people seem to post stuff just to play a victim status or act like it’s them against the world. Takes all kinds I guess

pile on a guy who is having a hard time and some will convince themselves their genius is self evident . they also refuse to withhold their opinions, or temper their presentation of the same even if the guy at the bottom of the pile is a college student or there is a likelihood recruits are also checking in. but its the stuff of genius so most of us simply cannot understand.

Best case scenario is DJ plays lights out with HJ as a very capable, mature backup and DK gets a redshirt.

If he plays like he did in 2021, he won't see much PT. Dabo now has QB's to replace him. Had we had Cade and HJ last year, DJ would have been riding the pine and we would most likely have been in the CFP. We have all new coaches and some new QB's and last year's QB performance is not going to repeat itself this year.
We have a CFP team and the new coaches know it, so it is on them to gitter dun. And they will. They are hungry and motivated to prove themselves and Dabo is motivated to prove he made the right hires. Dabo will not let a QB that can get us to the CFP sit on the bench. DJ will be 3rd string if he does not greatly improve. I guarantee you, Dabo was not happy being a spectator at the end of Reg. season last year.

I am ready to move on. Go ahead and use our freshman QB and make a legitimate run for Natty in 2 years.

I am not pulling for DJ to beat out Cade Klubnik. But I appreciate all Tiger fans should want the best for either Clemson starter. DJ will begin Spring and likely Summer practice as the starter if he puts in the work and will try to hold Klubnik off as long as he can. Let the best man win!

As long as he continues to work on his penmanship and follows the new mentor HJ on proper technique, he will be fine. Charting plays on the sidelines is a better fit for him.
