How did they make it to the CWS without playing super regionals? Which haven’t started yet.

Yep, CWS is the term for the 8 that make it out of the Super Regionals. Before that it is referred to as the Regionals. The NCAA Division I Baseball Championship is not referred to as The College World Series until it reaches Omaha and the 8 teams are seeded.
