When I was a kid and hunkering for a snack, I would have to use what was available.
One of my all-time faves though was potato chip sandwiches. Put a few regular lays potato chips and mustard between two slices of laura lynn white bread. I'm getting hungry right now just thinking about it!!!

BBQ bacon sausage
Nov 14, 2019, 12:37 PM
|
|
Take a pack or three of Publix mild Italian sausage (uncooked).
Wrap each link with two slices of bacon and secure with toothpicks. Usually 2 slices of Hormel Black Label original bacon per link using 3 tooth picks. Uses about a 1/2 to 2/3 lb of bacon for a pack of 5 sausages. ANYWAY, put them all on the grill and grill on LOW heat (300ish if possible) for a good hour, or until SLOWLY cooked. Then apply Sweet Baby Ray's, let that cook in. Depending on your grill you may have to babysit it because of flareups.
For 5-7 grownups I'd do two 5-link packs of sausage.

Go to Walmart and buy 2 or 3 large cans of Peanut Patch
Nov 14, 2019, 12:47 PM
|

boiled peanuts. They're already boiled and in brine when you buy them but you'll need to add about a 1/8 cup of salt. Pour em in your biggest crock pot Friday evening on high for a couple hrs then turn it down to low, then turn it off when you go to bed and turn it back on to low when you wake up.
They're just like the ones you buy in a Hot Spot or Spinx station except cheaper. You can also add some brown sugar to the brine if you like.

Beagle diks - lil smokies wrapped in bacon & sprinkled

with brown sugar - bake until the bacon is done.
Works best when we are playing a team with a dog mascot & then just change the name to the dog breed and then diks.
Got this from on here - from TTT I think ? ? ?
Or . . . . that thing bob had the picture of . . . I guess that works too.
I can't wait until the FBI finally gets bob's phone.

This 7 layer dip comes together fairly easy, especially if you’re using store bought ingredients. If I have homemade refried beans on hand I will use those, but typically when I make this dip I just use canned refried beans. I do mix mine with some homemade taco seasoning and a bit of sour cream to make it more of a bean dip, it’s easier to scoop with chips and is more flavorful. I do always make homemade guacamole though, because it’s so quick and easy to put together and tastes a thousand times better than any store bought guacamole SHOW US YER BUT.THOLE I’ve ever had. To assemble the dip, grab a glass dish. An 8×8 or a pie dish works great. And you want to use glass because then you can see the layers! Spread each layer of the beans, guacamole and sour cream one at a time. Use the back of a spoon to smooth out the top of a layer before adding the next one. This makes it look pretty in the glass dish.

This one was called "Mexican Pizza" when I was kid... it sounds not very good, but whenever I make it, it's always the first thing to be finished regardless of the occasion.
Ingredients: 16 oz Cream Cheese (not that whipped crap) 1 can Hormel chili, no beans 2 cup mozzarella cheese (Optional) diced onion (optional) diced green peppers (Optional) diced pepperoni 1 bag tortilla chips
Directions: Soften cream cheese and spread evenly across a pizza pan. Dump can of chili on top and spread evenly. Top with mozzarella cheese and toppings of choice. Bake at 325 for ~15 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool 5 minutes. Serve as is with tortilla chips for scooping.

Idk what your old recipes are so if these are redundant just ignore:
Mix 8oz cream cheese with jar of salsa. Mild or medium. Blend well with mixer. Serve with scoops tostitos. Add browned ground beef or sausage for a heartier version. Fan fave.
Also: mix in a bowl: Black beans 2 cans drained Niblets corn 2 cans drained Red Onion 1 medium 3 tomatoes chopped and diced Cilantro 1 bunch chopped fine Pour over after mixing: Balsamic vinegar 1 bottle Sugar 3 tablespoons
Makes plenty for that size crowd. Serve with Scoops
One more: Cocktail meatballs 1 12 oz bottle chili sauce 1 8 oz jar grape jam 1 pound meatballs (in freezer section) Stir above together. Bring to a boil. Add meatballs. Cook 7 minutes. Or you can do in slow cooker. Awesome!

I don't have the actual recipe but we just call it 'Ro-tel Dip' - its velveeta cheese with Ro-tel peppers/tomatoes, hamburger and mild sausage. Melt all together in crockpot. Use corn chips or tortilla chips to dip.
Not really what you asking but we always do the Tiger Paw Cheetos at tailgate or football watch party. Just too delicious & too similar to our logo to pass those up.

Cast Iron Pimento Cheese/BBQ sliders/Crab Muffins
Nov 14, 2019, 1:59 PM
|
|
Heat pimento cheese in a cast iron skillet in the oven until it's bubbling. I usually do a drizzle of hot sauce over the top when it's done. Serve with tortilla chips and pork rinds. Also, take some premade, sauced barbecue and drop about a quarter cup at a time on a hot skillet. Let it caramelize. Flip it to caramelize the other side. While it does, place a small piece of cooked bacon and a small piece of cheddar on top. Cover the pan to melt it. Serve on little King's Hawaiian rolls. Finally, mix a cup of crab meat, a soft stick of butter and a small jar of Kraft Old English sharp cheddar spread. Spread on English muffins and bake until bubbling and browned. Slice into quarters. And yes, all this stuff will kill you eventually.
