Lot of things wrong with this article...more than just the wording

Bomhardt was pinch running for Jacobsen. Bomhardt wasn't trying to steal. It was just her secondary lead, and the catcher tried to catch her napping.
The whole explanation of a sac fly is weird. But, it makes far more sense than the explanation of the go-ahead run. Not trying to be critical, but the author needs to rewrite this one.

In addition to telling us that Clark had both hits, but yet she scored on Cagle's single in the first. That makes 3, so something is incorrect.
Gotta figure that with the holiday, the writing team was shortstaffed and the article was written by someone with more enthusiasm than knowledge.
I'm all in favor of both, so I hope there is a kindly but yet critical review process that provides opportunity for improvement. Watch a few more games, perhaps?
Meanwhile, scoring twice vs FSU is a step in the right direction. But did you see how frequently the Noles again advanced baserunners with productive outs? We're not in that class yet.

OK, I get what you're saying but, I also see that you don't donate a penny to the site, so why are complaining about something that you have nothing invested. I'm sure you got the message that was intended by whomever posted it, and you're getting that message for free, so why are you slamming the writer. Just leave it alone bc it cost you nothing...

Ummm...because the Terms of Use don't require me to pay to comment. In the US, we expect people to take pride in their (our) work, and if we need improvement we would rather be told so by a friendly critic than a rude one.
The writer did an excellent job from a journalistic standpoint in giving the full names, class and position of everyone whose actions were instrumental in the outcome of the game (except for the oversight of the PR). If he/she needs an attaboy to give to their instructor next week, I will be glad to give it in lieu of the cent you're suggesting would qualify me to comment.
But I also hope the writer takes the time to learn the game a little more, hopefully from someone who knows and loves it as much as the other highly professional writers on staff do.

Why doesn’t the article say what the score was?

The greatest disappointment was that FSU had our Tigers scouted on not maintaining field and base running awareness. They were ready to exploit it on the throw back to Cagle. I would also say May at first was too slow to turn around and force the runner rounding third back to the base. That’s for certain one run, but possibly two runs the Tigers essentially gifted the Noles. The difference in a game with very few hits. Hopefully Rittman uses this series as a teaching moment. That’s the next step towards becoming a legit top 10 team. Winning the mental game.

Yeah, that last run when the FSU 3rd base runner “sneaked” into home plate because no one was paying attention was embarrassing for us and painfully demonstrated the lack of awareness and mental readiness required to win a top ten matchup. Despite a great deal of experience, we had several lapses during this series. Hopefully, we’re more prepared next time.

This Tigers will get there . This series pointed out weaknesses but this is a young program. The best is yet to come.

The girls never had confidence

It was a painful series to watch. FSU lives rent free in their heads. The only bat that was alive was Cagles. The Noles do not have the athletes we do from top to bottom. I saw someone mention productive outs, yes, FSU played small ball well. I also feel that “we aren’t there yet” was a terrible assessment of the program. This team is good enough to beat anyone in the country. This team is the blueprint for how to build a top 10 program in 4 years. They can do everything well, except hit FSU pitchers. Sandercock is one of the greatest to ever pitch. But, these girls should have had no problem with her. Our lineup from top to bottom has one of the highest batting averages in the nation. We need to schedule more elite teams. The schedule to date was weak and FSU exposed us a bit. I still believe this team can play with anyone and could win it all. IF they get their confidence up.

This is a terribly written article. It starts by saying Cagle had a single in the first inning but later says McKenzie Clark had the only 2 hits for Clemson. It completely butchers what happened in the top of the fifth. Poorly written, inaccurate information.
