ACC is weak? What about Big 10?

Sep 5, 2013, 10:03 AM

Ohio State, sorry...THE Ohio State is by far the best in that league but most of the rest are quite weak. Thoughts?

They aren't the strongest BCS conference but they aren't the weakest, either.

as long as the AAC exists..***

Interesting to me that the buckeyes are being touted as NC contenders and they won't play anyone in the top 20 other then Michigan. Most of the teams they play would be beaten by a quality high school team. What a joke. Yet if it comes down to it and there are 2 or 3 unbeaten teams you know who'll get the nod. "The ACC is just too weak to be credible." Yet the only ones who can change that image are the teams in the ACC. I think we're on our way. Hope the rest of this league gets its act together soon. Go Tigers.

I guess that's what I was trying to get at.

Michigan has to be in the Big10 discussion too.***

Screw Calford.

ACC looked pretty good this weekend, don't you think?

Sep 5, 2013, 11:02 AM

Nobody slipped up against a FCS team, and UVa pulled out a win over a BYU team they were supposed to lose to. Syracuse nearly beat PSU, VT's defense did a great job against Alabama, and NC State had no trouble with a La Tech team that was pretty good last year (beat UVa, Illinois, and UNLV last year and took TAMU to OT). Of course, Clemson beat UGa. The only big loss was by UNC to South Carolina on the road, and the biggest thing that came out of that game was UNC shutting Jadarion Clownsly down.

This weekend is another chance for the ACC to prove itself. In fact, it's probably a much bigger chance with Miami playing Florida at home in a game they're definitely talented enough to win, Syracuse having another chance to make a statement at Northwestern, Duke playing Memphis, and UVa looking to at least be in it with Oregon. I don't think 'Cuse or UVa wins, but just playing tough will make the conference look good in those games. If Miami wins, then that'll be the second week in a row with an ACC team beating a top 10 SEC team.

Looked good to me.

I guess we just have to beat everybody for a few years to get some respect in the ACC. I'm not an ACC pumper but I would like for the conference to have a better national reputation. It is hard to overcome ESecPN bias towards another conference. Maybe Fox Sports 1 will get more involved and make a difference in that arena.

I think I'd take the ACC over the Big 10 this season.

OSU and Clemson are about at parity
Michigan is a lot worse than FSU
Wisconsin=Miami
GT is as good if not better than Mich St
The rest of each conference is middling... but our middling includes UNC, VT, and a decent Maryland team.

ACC is better.
