as a senior in high school. It got colder as the game went on in the old Fulton County stadium. And we lost to Baylor 24-18. Baylor had Mike Singletary who was on the '85 Bears with Fridge and Fuller.

Clemson went to the Gator the year before (my sophomore year at Clemson), our first bowl in a long time. Missed that one but did go the next year to see us beat Ohio State. Didn’t know details of the fight until after the game, just saw all the players on the field. We were pretty wasted anyway! It was a great time!

DeChane Cameron was QB for the Tigers and went on to win the MVP for the game. We blistered the Fighting Illini 30-0 in that game. If I am not mistaken, that was the second or third largest crowd for that game up until current. It is called the ReliaQuest Bowl now.

I’m not sure what year it was but we played Pitt when Tony Dorsett was their RB and the bowl game was in Florida. Maybe Jacksonville?? It was around 1976-77 when I was in middle school. I remember seeing a motor home with a sign that said “poot on Pitt” 😆 As a kid I just thought that was hilarious!

The Peach Bowl against Tennessee.

I was born and raised jerked up by the hair of the head in Tennessee and though I wasn't a football fan I often said, 'GO BIG ORANGE!" My allegiance was divided when I enrolled in Clemson and there remained a tad of love for Tennessee even years after I graduated.
When that game kicked off anything and everything left in me for Tennessee died and I was truly born again in another life with Claws and Teeth and venom for a previous life and path. My baby boy, who was born my Junior year at Clemson, was with me, we had a blast and a time to remember forever.
I had a reckoning with reality. Anything I ever had for Tennessee was washed from my soul.

if it was my first Clemson bowl game. You would think I would be 100% sure on something like that.
I know it wasn’t my first bowl game, though, because I went to the Gator Bowl with a buddy a year or two before, when the coots played the BayouBengals.

Same for me. My wife and I went with my former Clemson roommate and his wife. We had a great time, and it was great to see the Tigers destroy West Virginia and Major Harris. Go Tigers!!!

The first one I remember watching was 78 against Pitt. They had some running back that was unstoppable and arrogant too. I was too young to have really understood the significance, or even meaning, of a bowl game, but my father, who rarely watched football because it conflicted with hunting season, was making a big deal of it.

77 gator bowl, was a junior in HS. Was about 4 of us in High School, all Tiger fans and future alumni. The only adult with us and our driver was a Pitt grad. Quiet trip home.

Just my opinion but I think that 89 team was the fourth best team in Clemson history

at least in my lifetime. Maybe the 1948, 1950, and 1977 teams were better.

2015 Orange Bowl against Baker Mayfield and the Sooners. Me and my buddy were still broke college kids, but luckily, we got tickets in the Taco Bell student section. Drove 10 hours the day before the game and drove back the day after. That ride is not for the faint of heart.
