Swinney explains why Lyn-J Dixon has had limited carries: "Needs to grow up" |
The Clemson running game only had two rushing yards in their 10-3 loss to Georgia last weekend.
Fast forward this week, Clemson had an impressive performance rushing 36 times for 242 yards in the team's 49-3 victory over South Carolina State on Saturday. However, veteran running back Lyn-J Dixon only had four carries for 27 yards in the contest. Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney was asked during his post-game press conference why Dixon hasn't played as much as most people have anticipated so far in 2021. "He just needs to grow up," Swinney said honestly. "Needs to grow up. It's just that simple. He needs to be a team player. And just grow up. He’s a very good player, obviously. Need him to stay out of Spiller's doghouse. That’s really it." Dixon has five rushes for 37 yards this season. Im a great team player I love to see all my brothers eat on the field ?? All I do is encourage and try to help a player out..Only if y’all knew??
