Report: Former Clemson forward waived, to sign with new team

by -

Former Clemson forward Trevor Booker has been waived by the Philadelphia 76ers, according to multiple reports.

Yahoo first reported that Booker would sign with the Indiana Pacers, which are currently fifth in the East standings, and Booker confirmed on Twitter shortly after.

"Philly, I appreciate my short time with you guys," Booker posted on Twitter first Wednesday, "great fans and a great future."

"Indy, let’s work!!!!" Booker added later.

Booker has averaged 6.6 points and 4.7 rebounds in 51 games this season, playing 17.4 minutes per game.

The Sixers recently acquired former Hawks forward Ersan Ilyasova and Booker was on a contract expiring next season after being traded from the Brooklyn Nets in December.

He was drafted as the No. 23 pick overall in the first round in the 2010 draft and sent to Washington, where he played four seasons. Booker also played in Utah for two seasons before spending the two prior years in Brooklyn.
