The Clemson Basketball team (12-7, 5-2 ACC) finally lost an ACC game after winning their last five contests including three straight against ranked teams.

The Tigers fell to #13 Virgina (14-4, 3-3 ACC) 69-62 in a highly contested battle at John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Clemson forward Jaron Blossomgame continued his impressive play with 13 points and four rebounds in the first half of action and finished the game with 23 points, five rebounds, and an assist.

An interesting statistic was that Clemson did not have an offensive rebound and had zero second-chance points in the first half. The Tigers finished with two offensive rebounds for the game and were outrebounded by 11.

Another telling statistic was that Clemson only shot six free throws (6-6) while Virginia shot twenty-two free throws (15-22) in the contest.

Clemson center Landry Nnoko had a solid offensive performance with 15 points, three rebounds, and an assist.

The Tigers showed heart as they battled back to 62-59 with a minute to go but were unable to complete the comeback.

The starting backcourt for the Tigers was a combined 3-13 shooting for nine points against a pesky Cavalier defense.

Virginia now leads Clemson in the all-time series 70-53 including the last four games overall and six in the row in Charlottesville.

Clemson will try to regroup as they have a home game with Pittsburgh (15-2) on Wednesday, 1/27 at 7 pm on RSN.
