Average offensive personnel leads to average offensive results.

I don't think our personnel on offense is average, but it's definitely not stellar. While Cade is improving and is a much better runner and more accurate than DJ, he at this point is also not DW nor Trevor.
Our backs do not possess blinding speed like CJ nor Travis, but Will and Phil are not average by a long shot either.
Our receiver corps at this point is perhaps average. We do not have anyone like Sammy, Tee, Mike Williams or Justyn Ross. Jake has not been a threat at tight end and to date Tyler Brown has been our best receiver in my opinion.
I agree that our offense is not what we've had in recent years past, but overall I wouldn't say they're just average by a long shot. However, at present we do not strike terror in a DC's heart.

Apparently, all you have to do is put eight people in the secondary, and we immediately wave a white flag.

I'm not sure how much is coaching and how much is evaluation. Most have shown flashes when they are healthy, but our offense cannot stay healthy. To me that brings in a question of conditioning. Either that, or our coaches question whether it is in the players best interest to play with a hang nail. It seems like players that are day to day miss 3 more weeks. If it is not conditioning then it may be a lack of toughness, but there have been too many injuries to date to just chalk it up to random chance.

After years of mediocrity, Dabo transformed our program and brought us two national championships. He did it by recruiting well, and focusing on a commitment to the recruits, rather than using the portal. It has been the Dabo Way, the Clemson Way.
There is much to admire there, but to do that and be successful you have to have recruits on offense like Watson, Gallman, Williams, Higgins, Ross,, Lawrence and Etienne, who have all gone on to the NFL. (And it would be nice to get lucky again with a walk-on like Rentrow.)
We simply do not have players of that caliber on offense right now. Plus, you have to have a lights-out field goal kicker to win at the elite level today.
And even with our mostly excellent defense, I do not see how our offense beats Miami, Notre Dame and UNC. Also, can we even outscore the Gamecocks in Columbia when they have Spencer Rattler at quarterback?. If I am right, we are looking at an awful season—after so much optimism and hope going into the Duke game.
Mike Norvell fixed FSU by using the portal astutely. One portal player alone has made a huge difference there—receiver Keon Coleman.
I went to Clemson in the 1960’s. I worked in the athletic department for legends Bob Bradley and Frank Howard. So I love my Tigers. Just wish I could be more optimistic about ‘em right now. But NEVER GIVE UP!!

I don't agree with you on many things, but you simply cannot argue with this. Hopefully the coaches and players will right the ship for the 2nd half of the season. Go Tigers!!! Beat Miami!!!

If that is true then we are way below average in our execution compared with the talent we have.

You'd think if teams are dropping 8, we could run the ball

Like in the days of old. Like when The Chad ran the O. We lollygag too much on O. Get up there and run a play ! I learned this in golf. Don’t fool around too much … get up there and hit the ball !

Start the first half, like the second half against WF

Ship in space, Mafah on the inside. Then throw more down field...get explosive! Antonio being back will surely help.

Enough on the "drilled" comments. However, what you said about our offense needs to dictate terms and be more proactive was spot on! Well done!

They need to quit overthinking everything and just turn them boys loose...just go out and play backyard football and have fun. You can tell they are pressing on every snap trying not to screw up rather than just go out and play. I've never seen an offense make every yard look so #### hard!

The offense needs to run hurry up all the time, it seems they play better, put your best players in the lineup, quit subbing all the time and don't give the defense a chance to replace players.

If teams are going to drop back, put the QB under center and play. Heck, surprise us all and bring back the option. The only offensive identity this team currently has is that of a turnover machine. Design plays for the talent on the field. CBV changed up one season when he didn’t have his traditional war daddies up front. The coaches need to start coaching and earn their keep.

Time for our offensive line to step up and have a dominant game - What say we get the running game off and running big time for starters!

Miami best O we've faced all season? Statistically maybe.

Miami's offense is good, but I'd say that Duke's offense (with Leonard) and FSU's offense are better than Miami's. Statistically, Miami's O may lead the conference, but that's likely thanks to their schedule so far.
This game will be an interesting test for Miami's O and Clemson's D.

Strange season overall for most teams. Who on this board gave Duke a snowballs chance in hell against ND. Just like us against FSU they should have won.
My point is the total yards we posted against Duke is impressive when you look at the body of work their defense has done so far. We shot ourselves in the foot over and over. And we continue to do so.
Second point is right now our two losses don’t look so bad. This team has a lot of talent. We need to play complimentary football.
Third point is about coaching. That Duke team is well coached and playing well above their talent level. We need to get back to 2012 Dabo. Fierce and humble
We can absolutely best Miami. But we can also loose by a bunch if we don’t protect the ball. I’m going to back my Tigers.
Here’s to the second half and six wins

Teams are dropping 8 and we can’t run the ball against 3 linemen?
