How far the Hornets and Panthers have fallen off. Charlotte has to be the worst professional sports city right now. Grew up down the road and loved going to the Hornets games in the 90s when they had some decent teams. David Tepper has ruined the Panthers imo. The new mls team is still young so can't complain much about that. Really wish they could get it together.

they played near the Charlotte/Douglas. Both teams have fallen off. Sounds kind of like Cootville IMO.
Let's hope Clemson never falls this low.

I am not a Hornets or Panther's fan so I don't care. When you draft as badly as Charlotte has, you are not going to win many games. I don't even know 1 player on the Hornet's roster so it makes no difference to me whether they win or lose.

I can't get behind Tepper after the practice facility debacle.

Typical sleazy billionaire move where he's trying to bully around a small town jurisdiction. All he received out of it was embarrassment and local distrust. The structure was built and was going to really boost the local economy of Rock Hill and instead of sitting down and working out a plan to move forward after a miscommunication they just left...and now its just an exit ramp to a big field.
I guess i was really out when they passed on Isaiah Simmons in the draft. It was their moment to right the wrongs of their past and gain some local fans and they said nah. They're a really peculiar front office. After all these years they still don't understand basic marketing. After all these years you still can't pick a tiger in the 6th round for morale purposes? Yet you'll pick some guy from App STate, NC state, or SCAR?

I don’t like Tepper at all after what happened in Rock Hill. Crappy team owner. Even though I live nearby I already didn’t like them because of not drafting ONE Clemson player in 28 years but after the Rock Hill crap I don’t care if they win any games.

Loved watching them when Mugsy and Grand Ma Ma were playing... Also enjoyed Kelly Tripuka, Dell Curry, Kurt Rambis, Kendall Gill, Kenny Anderson, Glen Rice, Vlade Divac and Rex Chapman days. They have had some really good players through the years.

LJ, Mugsy, Alonzo...& Hornets jackets were everywhere.
My MS had it where if you didn't have any disciplinary issues (lunch detentions or ISS/OSS, etc) for entire school year, we'd get to go to a Hornets game. Those were fun.

The Hornets games at The Hive were a lot of fun.

Fan support was outstanding for the first decade or so of the franchise. There were lots of sellouts, which was even more impressive since that arena was big.
Then George Shinn got rid of fan favorites like LJ and Zo, and not surprisingly fans didn't like that. I mean, who would you rather watch play, Larry Johnson and Alonzo Mourning, or Anthony Mason and Matt Geiger?
Michael Jordan has proven time and time again to be a horrible owner. Bad draft picks and poor free agency decisions have resulted in that franchise being pretty bad.
As for the Panthers, I don't like them and never have. The only good thing I can say about them is that they played in Clemson their first year.

The Hornets do not have much of a history of success, actually they have little to no success at all.
Back in their earlier days with Mugsy, Grandmama, Alonzo, Trapuka, Curry days were actually their best days in franchise history....and that was 30ish years ago.
I think the best team they had made it into the 2nd round of the playoffs, not exactly breathtaking lol
The Panthers have had much more success, 2 super bowl trips, within a Vinatari FG of getting a win over Tom Brady and the Pats.
