We will do exactly the same as we are doing in the ACC. When we have a top ten team we will win 12 or 13 games/yr in the SEC. The SEC is nothing special other than ESPiN's pet cash cow.

Yeah, all those national titles, most players taken in the draft, most attendance and the most tv viewership is all fabricated. None of this happens. Man, put the crack pipe down.

How many of those national titles and draft picks has Tennessee supplied in the last 10 years? Would you like to compare Clemson’s contributions to your school’s?
I think we would fare rather well in the SEC. I don’t think we would dominate the way we have in the ACC, but we would acquit ourselves admirably.
Btw, I don’t hate Tennessee. I spent a few years there in graduate school and attended lots of football & basketball games. I pull for them when they’re not playing Clemson.

I pulled for TN until we played them in the Peach when West and Fulmer were coaching. The only think UT has going for it is that it's not full of yankees because when a yankee seeks substandard educations they go to junior colleges.

Take bama out of the picture and check those same numbers. SEC is a great conference but BAMA toted the water for the conference.

You should have taken remedial reading while you were at Clemson...historically we have a serious losing record vs. the SEC and we have winning record vs everyone in the ACC! But for a few $ more we could beat anyone!

Sure, we missed on a quarterback which cost us last season but if you think our history since Danny was fired is part of what's happening with Dabo you need more help than remedial reading can lend you.

To be fair, we tend to play only the upper echelon of the SEC (plus that school in the state capital). Most of our meetings have come in bowl games, which would mean they were among the better teams in the conference in a given year. During the regular season, we tend to play Georgia.
We played Tennessee twice in the 1970’s, both at Neyland Stadium. Lost both in close games, and since I was in attendance at both, I can testify that we were robbed both times.

Were undefeated against A&M. Reading classes don’t help when looking at statistics. Math doesn’t help much either. If you took college statistics you know what I mean. Statistics show Clemson has a winning record vs the SEC since 2000. I’ll make it in crayon so you can understand.
2000’s: 9-8 2010’s: 16-9 2020’s: 3:3
Maybe you should have taken some remedial classes at Furman or USCU?!

But look at future schedules, all those mighty SEC schools will have to travel to Clemson, which has been rare.

Well there’s the question of how would we have done if we were in the SEC with the 14 member’s that are there now? If you put us in and took out say an LSU, Tenn, FL etc.. we’d have still done very well. Probably would still have at least one NC and multiple conference titles.
Now the new SEC is a different ball game by adding Texas, OK, and hypothetically FSU and CU. No one is coming out undefeated on a regular basis. There will be a group of two loss teams at the top. I think we will eventually get back to our 2015-2020 success and can be a team in that top group.

Money would increase, competition level would increase, big stage games would increase, attendance would rise back to packed out all the way, etc.
Therefore, recruiting at Clemson would be absolutely ridiculous
I feel the reason Dabo did not have the number one class 5 years in a row was because players wanted to go play the huge games. And now it’s also about NIL.
It would be tremendous for a program that exceeds 95% of the SEC in all sports overall
I hate to say that Clemson “belongs in the SEC”, but yeah, they do.

Clemson would be in the top half of the conference most years. Some years they would contend for their division and other years they'd be in the lower half of the conference. Right now they're about 4th or 5th in the SEC based on recent results.

Other than Bama and the dawgs who else has a better recent history than the tigers? Name 1, not LSU or the Viles, they both suck, the other 10 teams are average or below average.

Ole Miss and Missou are clearly better than us right now. We will be ranked below 4-5 SEC teams in the first poll.

Just seems we are snake bit with cornhole despite being in an area that is rich in tradition and history with sack tossing.

Not that well. Clemson is not a SEC type school. There's a more cultural difference. Clemson is more a Northern type school with more northerners on campus.

I know we fans like to decry the SEC as some ESPN hype, but the reason we would want to leave the ACC and head to the SEC is that we don't want to end up in a conference that is looked at like CUSA. The SEC is a strong conference with alot of strong schools with very healthy football traditions.
Since there are going to be no divisions in the SEC any longer it will be tougher to get to that top spot when great programs like Georgia and Alabama are right there at #1 or #2 every year. Then there are the schools like Auburn and LSU that are up and down alot, but in the hunt just about season. Texas is no slouch of a program. However, I think Clemson ranks right in there with them and will have great seasons.
On one hand, if Clemson is in the ACC it is virtually garaunteed a play-off spot every single year if it just keeps on with what it is doing. The SEC is alot more challenging in this reguard. I kinda think that once the new play-off system settles in some of the schools that joined the SEC and the Big10 are going to have buyers remorse when they see lesser schools in their minds get into the play-offs every year while they sit behind the perennials of Georgia, Alabama, Ohio St and the islamic califate of Michigan. Recruits might just start getting lured into some of the other conferences based on the fact that they are more likely to get into the play-offs and therefore more likely to get more attention and NIL money that way than be losing to Georgia every single year.

Competitive in football, but get used to 3 and 4 loss seasons. However, that’s going to be the new norm for good not great football teams in the P2 conferences because the cup cakes and bottom feeder schools will be a smaller portion of a schedule any given year. Success will look more like NFL type playoff teams. Games themselves may be more entertaining win or lose.
Regarding other Clemson sports I enjoy. Not good for baseball and softball. Maybe recruiting will pickup being in the SEC but there are so many powerhouse programs to compete against. Basketball? It would be about the same results. Maybe a little better if we could get better officiating but I doubt it. Men’s soccer? Not good as Clemson would have to step down into another lesser conference. Not too optimistic for the golf teams either, but maybe they also improve the recruiting. Gymnastics and women’s LAX? Not sure. The ACC is weak in gymnastics so Clemson may benefit from competing against better programs. Track and Field? No idea since I don’t pay attention. Rowing? Is that even a thing in the SEC?

Historically the SEC has about 3 teams every year that are at least partly NC contenders. Clemson would make it about 4.
