A noon game is still a prime TV spot. For instance, last year, Texas Oklahoma and Ohio State Michigan games were played at noon EST, as well as a lot of big games. Some people just want to find a reason to complain and criticize.

My reaction is thank God I don't have to stay up until 11:00-12:00pm. I have church the next day, lol.
Plus I like noon games. It gets me out of a bunch of honey-do's.

Doesn't matter what time we get our butts kicked. Dabo knows they can't beat a team with a real pulse. Too much conservative play the last 4 years and too predictable. Looking more and more like the offense under Kyle Parker years ago. Doesn't matter that Wesco and others have signed on. This offensive staff has no guts. Their basically scared to screw up. Georgia will expose that in an ugly, ugly way.

My first thought is ESPN is trying to challenge Fox and their Big Noon Kickoff which is 100% the correct answer. Clemson/Georgia the kickoff game on the 1st Saturday is a sure fire way to get eyes. People want to see if Clemson can get back to prominence against probably the top team the past few years. Some of the responses are predictable from supposed Clemson fans. I remember 8 years ago talking about if Clemson fans would become Bama fans, unappreciative and entitled if Clemson were to ever win National Championships and have sustained success. Guess we know now huh.

Sustained success I think is the big one for us Clemson fans. We all want Clemson to be truly in the hunt even if we do not win the national championship. But the last few years if we had not had a bunch of girls teams on the schedule our win loss ratio would not have been so good. Sustained success to me means a top ten team every year. I have no doubt that Clemson can sustain being a top 25 team, but to be an elite program we really have to keep up a top ten ranking every year(both in pre season and end of season).

That was what I believed immediately as well - sort of. GA will get guaranteed ratings but Clemson also punches well above its school size weight in the ratings, people watch us, just a fact. The only thing odd to me is that disney owns not only espn, accn, secn, etc but also fox and abc as well. So, I don't think they are competing against themselves, but I believe they are trying to own the entire timeslot outright to start the season.

You are 100% correct but they own the Fox TV Network. Fox Sports (The FSN) was part of Newscorp, therefore not part of the deal. However, outside of cable FSN, anything aired on the Fox Broadcast Network or FXX, FXM, etc is disney 100%

Such is the nature of corparate holdings. They all compete against each other. My last job was with a conglomerate that own several of our competitors as well. We all functioned as separate business units and had to compete in the open market with each other. Better three companies bidding on one project than one. The odds of success are much higher.

At my age games after 6pm are hard! Noon games means I have to get my hour nap at 10:45. LOL!
BEAT THEM DOGS AT ANYTIME! Really liked when they all started at 1pm! TV ESPN have really messed things up!

The prime time game is ND vs A&M, and the 3:30 is the new SEC on ABC game instead of CBS. I suppose they could’ve done Georgia / Clemson instead…

What difference does the time make? The stadium will be packed, the players will be jacked and it should be another good game if our defense is as good as we hope it will be.
